Chapter 73: To Coleshill Manor

Even if the opposing group, or whatever it was, didn’t know their full strength, even if they were killing zombies one by one on the road, they still had a great chance of success.

So far they had managed to kill over twenty Tier 2 Mutant Zombies. The zombie population in the centre of Birmingham, which had decreased thanks to Elise, seemed to have increased to a very high level here.

Indeed, there was no resemblance between Birmingham as it was when Light first came here and looked around and Birmingham as it is now.

It became quite possible to see that many things had changed.

In this case, it was possible to say that Birmingham and its surroundings were no longer a safe city. This meant that Birmingham and the Roan group with her were in great danger.

It was clear that those who attacked Elise were not a ’grouping’, perhaps they were just a group of corpses controlled by a mutant zombie.

In this case, it was possible to say that the people targeting Elise and her group were not the leaders of other cities.

That was a good thing. After all, the last thing you want right now is a war between cities.

The Light could handle it, but the same could not be said for the Roan group.

The fact that Elise didn’t have all of Birmingham under her control posed an even greater danger.

Light had to be very careful indeed, because what he was facing now might be just like the mutant plant that was likely to be found in Tamworth.

It was likely to be a less dangerous but equally deadly mutant.

Light began to move the group at full speed, choosing to go directly the way Elise had planned to go. It was stupid and dangerous, but he had twenty people he could trust, people who were willing to fight for him.

That meant he had to try to push his luck.

If he didn’t crush the head of the snake while it was small, much worse things would happen to him.

On the other hand, he was lucky, it had been a while since he had seen the corrupted religious symbols, and it was a good thing that none of them were to be found in any of the settlements approaching Coleshill from the entrance to Birmingham.

This reduced the chances of it being a human being to almost 0%.

From Solihull College, they went up the motorway just behind the wooded area. Light and 21 others were still travelling at full speed through the snow-covered area.

After only a short time they had managed to reach the very edge of the river Cole. This meant that they were close to Coleshill Manor.

At that very moment, the sounds around them had stopped, this would not be a wrong word, indeed, the sounds around them had stopped and literally even the sounds of breathing had begun to diminish.

It was really creepy.

Light ordered everyone to get ready. Leonard, Kyle, Duke, Charles, Neo, Andrew and Lillia were incredibly calm and without a trace of fear on their faces, while the new people in the group were filled with excitement, adrenaline and fear.

Light was ready, clearly aware that something was watching them. With his Inspection ability activated, he was constantly looking around and trying to be careful to stop just in case.

The Inspection ability was literally appearing on each tree, showing whether the trees were alive or dead. Light’s head ached a little bit in this situation, but this was something that came with being careful.

At that very moment, something unexpected happened. His Inspection ability picked up something:

[Necromancer’s Slave]

Light looked towards this thing that his Inspection skill had revealed and realised that something was watching them through the trees, jet black, with what looked like stitch marks where its eyes and mouth should have been.

Light realised that all the hair on his body had suddenly started to move.

Without a second thought, he gripped his silenced M4A1 and fired three shots.

"Thwip! Thwip! Thwip!"

As Light fired, the thing that had been watching them through the trees fell forward, into a clearing where everyone could see it, and the group suddenly realised what had happened.

"They’re in the trees, form a circle, cover each other!" Light suddenly said, and as he said this, the twenty people managed to form a circle with tiny gaps between them.

Light really couldn’t believe what he saw in the system window.

"A Necromancer!" he thought with great astonishment. Indeed, at the end of six months, he had met someone with powers like him, but the situation was really terrible.

After all, this person with powers was his enemy. This person, man or woman, had tried to hunt Elise.

On top of that, this person had sent his slaves to watch Light and his group. In Light’s eyes, it was like being told that war had been declared on him.

"FREE SHOT!!!" Light suddenly shouted, and with that, the last string holding the fishing line was broken.

"BANG!!!"

"BBBRAP!!!!"

"KA-BLAM!!!"

One after another, gunshots rang out into the sky in this vast place, and every few seconds one of the Necromancer’s Slaves would fall to the ground.

After a short period, the feeling of being watched was lifted from Light, and at that moment, the order to fire was stopped. Without waiting, Light gave even more bullets to the whole group and as soon as he secured the ammunition, the destination was clear.

Light had pointed with his finger, they were going to head towards Coleshill Manor.

The only reason he gave this order, the only reason he knew that the person with this power was in this school, Coleshill Manor, was something else that the system window showed him:

[Necromancer’s Slave

The living human body has been refined].

This was definitely something that meant that this person had to be stopped. The target was Coleshill Manor, and the thing to do was to kill this dishonourable ability user-turned monster.
