Chapter 74: There Are More To Learn

It didn’t take long, perhaps twenty minutes of incredibly detailed travelling, before they were finally able to see Coleshill Manor with their naked eyes.

The whole group was travelling at an incredibly slow pace. No one was tired, they had only been travelling for a couple of hours and they were paying attention.

At Light’s command, everyone suddenly stopped, and he realised that something was strange.

It was quiet, this was not an understatement, it was quiet.

There was no sound of breathing, no footsteps on the medium-soft snow, not even the sound of falling snow. Even the sound of the air echoed incredibly faintly in the ears.

Something was very strange and wrong, and caution had to be exercised.

Light gave an order to Charles with his hand and then reached into his inventory and pulled out a pair of binoculars. He gave Charles a command with his hand, telling him that they should form a circle to be prepared for anything.

With the binoculars, he was trying to see as much as he could in the fog. There was a thick fog today, but the fog here made even a little bit of things invisible, it would not be a lie to say that nothing could be seen except for things like big buildings.

Light took his binoculars out with the thought that maybe he could catch something through the fog and started to observe the surroundings.

There was nothing in sight, the fact that the fog was getting thicker by the minute was not helping the situation in any way.

The fact that the group was in the middle of nowhere was also a great danger, after all, the only reason why they had probably not been attacked so far was that the thick fog was both in the air and on the ground.

The only reason the group could see each other was because they were quite close to each other.

Still, there was little point in waiting any longer, they would probably have to enter the lair of whoever the group now recognised as the enemy.

Light immediately switched on the walkie-talkie, and having a walkie-talkie in each group member made everything easier, this way he could find the orders much more, after all, the sound distribution here was terrible, and no one could hear anyone.

"We will enter Coleshill Manor Campus, be very careful. If you encounter anybody, tell them not to approach you, if they are scared, watch out and let them get out of the way, if you think they are going to try to attack, try to neutralise them without killing them, otherwise it’s a free shot. Over."

Light took off his mask as soon as he said these words, as the people around tried to understand what was going on, each of them realised that Light had started to put on the gas mask, so everyone understood that he had a plan.

"Keep the gas bombs ready just in case, they will come in handy if we encounter too many enemies and they are human. Remember to wear your gas masks. Over."

As he added these words, he checked his weapon and the number of bullets and then signalled to the group and the ten of them moved forward with their backs to the rear.

After five minutes of careful progress, they managed to arrive in front of the Campus. The door was unlocked, and people could be seen inside. Light realised that something was wrong, there was a look of fear on the faces of the people inside.

Almost every one of them was made up of scrawny people, among whom only children seemed to be able to consume food.

At that very moment, each of these people stood up and the knives in the hands of the youths became visible. Light was waiting to execute the order to shoot just in case, but he chose not to do so.

He opened the door of the campus and then calmly said, "I’m looking for the Necromancer."

As soon as he said these words, the young people inside the campus had a worried expression.

"Are you an enemy or a friend? We won’t let you take him!" suddenly came a question and a few words.

Light shook his head when he heard these words and then said, "This is an answer that will be revealed when I see the Necromancer."

With that, Light lowered his weapon but signalled to the group members behind him not to lower their weapons.

At his words, one of the young men suddenly turned round and headed for the stairs leading upstairs.

After a short time, someone with a staff in his hand started to descend the stairs with the youth. This person was Necromancer.

"I know who you are, more or less," Necromancer said, a look of fear visible on his face. Light seemed to refuse to believe that this was the same man who had attacked Elise and Roan.

Light had someone much more frightening in mind. The person in front of him was a young man, a thin man with dark circles under his eyes from lack of sleep.

"You are the one who killed my creations..." the Necromancer suddenly muttered.

Light, without missing a beat, pointed his weapon at the Necromancer and then said, "A week ago, you attacked a group in the Kingshurst neighbourhood. We are here for revenge."

With that, every single person, from the old to the young, from the young to the children, started to get in front of the Necromancer and then pushed him backwards.

While Light was trying to understand what was going on, one of the elders began to speak:

"He only did it to protect us, those outside are only spreading death, they have been here before, raping our men and women, stealing our food! This God-given young man was just helping us!!!"

Light and the rest of the group seemed surprised to hear these words, yet Light had no reason to believe them.

At that moment, he had only used his inspection ability to make sure, just to be sure, not wishing to kill someone, and what he saw made him question himself.

He really couldn’t believe it.
