Chapter 627: Chapter 334: Back in the Day, I Too Wore Fine Clothes and Rode a Valorous Horse (Part 2)

The journey usually takes three hours, but they arrived in two and a half.

Nick Zeller was cautious and parked his Grand Cherokee in a concealed spot at the foot of the mountain, instead of using the construction team’s parking lot.

He got out of the car and instructed Gabrielle Winters, "Stay inside and don’t show yourself. If you feel sleepy, just take a nap on the back seat. I’ve had the car’s rear windows specially changed; you can’t see inside from the outside, but you can see outside from inside."

In his subconscious, he didn’t want anyone to know he came with someone else.

Gabrielle nodded, climbing from the front passenger seat to the back seat. She really lay down, pulling a small blanket left in the car over herself, and said, "Don’t worry about me. It’s over twenty degrees at night now, so I’ll just open the window a crack for some air. You be careful."

"I know, if anything happens, I’ve got a backup plan." Nick Zeller laughed indifferently.

He’s been doing Feng Shui for over twenty years, how could he not have a backup plan?

It’s not like he and Lawrence haven’t had to escape for their lives...

Thinking back to past events, Nick Zeller nearly burst into laughter. 𝗳𝚛𝗲𝕖𝕨𝕖𝗯𝚗𝚘𝕧𝕖𝗹.𝗰𝗼𝕞

He turned his head and looked at the forested mountains.

The surroundings were silent, the trees forming silhouettes that blocked out the sky, obscuring the stars and the moon.

Suddenly, the sound of a night owl pierced the air, like an old woman crying out in mixed sorrow and joy.

The hairs on his neck stood on end.

"Damn, something’s definitely off..." He gripped his cane tighter, heading toward the location sent to him.

He knew this place; he’d run up and down here for two days two weeks ago, even familiarized himself with the trees. How could he not?

It took him twenty minutes to climb halfway up the mountain to where the lights shone brightest.

Nick Zeller was panting heavily, thinking he really needed to lose weight; without losing weight, his body can’t handle hiking.

A group of people dressed in black stood under the erected streetlights, each expressionless.

A man in a light gray trench coat sat cross-legged on a bamboo reclining chair, one arm comfortably resting on the armrest, the other holding a cigarette, occasionally flicking the ash without smoking.

Nick Zeller scoffed internally, thinking, You get full marks for pretending, but do you really need to be holding a cigarette?

Given that this is a woodland area...

Thinking this, he plastered a smile on his face and approached, bowing slightly, "Mr. Ouyang, sorry to keep you waiting."

The man turned his head, displaying a prominent scar that almost bisected his face.

He looked at Nick Zeller and slowly stood.

His build was similar to Nick’s—just as tall and strong.

But Nick Zeller’s round, chubby face was always smiling, his features pleasant, reminiscent of his handsome youth.

Whereas Mr. Ouyang’s scarred appearance could only be described as ghastly.

Not smiling was better; once he did, his features disarranged, looking not only ugly but chilling.

Yet Nick Zeller had encountered many like him.

People who once lived by the sword, made their fortune risking their lives, and then began leading straight lives.

Such people were even more superstitious about Feng Shui.

Seeing Nick arrive, he narrowed his eyes at Nick and slowly raised the hand holding the cigarette, saying, "Nick Great Heavenly Master, you’ve walked too slowly. Weren’t you at the mountain’s base twenty minutes ago?"

Nick Zeller chuckled, "Old age, unsteady legs, and a bit overweight, so..."

He didn’t finish before his expression changed involuntarily.

If the other knew he was at the mountain base twenty minutes ago, did that mean where he parked was also under their surveillance?

Had he known, he would have parked in the lot.

Regretting this internally, he continued to smile outwardly and said, "You know, the yearly physical exams are enough to make me feel like throwing up."

"Hahaha, well then, you better lose weight!" Mr. Ouyang laughed heartily.

He tossed aside his cigarette, raised a hand, and pointed to the pit dug out ahead, saying, "Nick Great Heavenly Master, want to check if there’s anything wrong here?"

Nick Zeller took another look around.

He had scrutinized this place many times.

Smiling, he said, "This spot is located at the mountain’s midpoint, facing north from south, with a flat terrain. Ahead, you can see a small river bending by not far away."

"In Feng Shui, this setup is called Jade Belt Gold Water Enclosure; it’s definitely a great spot for accumulating wealth!"
