Evolving Infinitely From An E-Class Hero-Chapter 34: The First
Finally taken care of Mamrah, now unto its master Gravehowl, who was still nowhere to be found.
Or so I thought.
I stepped back from Mamrahs corpse when a huge wave of killing intent hit me like an avalanche.
It was incredible, I had never felt anything like it to say the least.
Even Ice Blast and Thunderlash paused when the felt the overwhelming surge of aura.
I knew who and what exactly it was as soon as it hit me.
Gravehowl.
I spun towards the origin of the aura and there he was.
"So you decide to come now..."
He floated atop his massive, jagged seat of bones, hovering a few meters above the ground as an endless number of minions carried his weight on their backs.
His glowing night black eyes scanned the wreckage beneath him with pleasure.
Now under the light of day, he was very much visible. His fur was dark as a starless night, very coarse and unkept.
His long lips curled into a sinister grin, revealing rows of serrated, yellowish fangs. Heavy metal plated armor covered his chest and shoulders, engraved with cryptic symbols I couldn’t quite read.
Around his neck, he wore a crimson cloak stitched from the remains of previous victims, which complemented the huge, rocky club he wielded in his right hand.
He released another wave of killing intent again and it seemed to root everyone watching to the spot.
"Hmmm..."
Gravehowl exhaled with satisfaction as his matching minion chariot came to stop right at the middle of the square.
"Good. With Tempest Wolf out of the way, no one is left to challenge my domination." He clenched his clawed hand.
"Sector D is just the beginning." His voice rumbled through the air like a distant storm. "Next comes Sector C, then B, then A... Until every single soul will be mine." His eyes gleamed with wicked anticipation.
His minions around him howled around with frenzy.
His ominous gaze suddenly fell on Mamrahs lifeless corpse and just like that his dirty grin was instantly turned upside down.
"He who took Mamrah The Commanders life step forward..." He thundered with his eyebrows furrowed to the tip.
Both Thunderlash and Ice Blasts gaze slowly came to rest on my figure as I stood unfazed by his killing intent.
I took a couple steps forward without saying a word.
The whole appearance looked dangerous to the core and all I could think of is Gravehowl using his stony club to wipe us heroes out in one successful swing.
There was no reason to panic— yet. I did a comprehensive simulation in my head. By letting Thunderlash and Ice Blast take care of his minions while I would go head-to-head with Gravehowl.
With his hulking size and weight, there was no way he would keep up with my quick fire offensive attacks
That was what I thought, until.
Thud, thud, thud, thud, thud!!!.
"Huh!!!"
Gravehowl broke my expectations and bolted forward like a streak of lightning.
"What the hell was that movement?!" Thunderlash yelled out with fear.
That was the exact same thing I thought.
Quite literally, in the blink of an eye, Gravehowl had ran past his minions even stomping on a few in the process and arrived before our perimeter.
"Oh, crap!!"
My eyes widened.
This villain was huge, with a mountain size body mass managed to move at such speed. That was unheard of.
"M, mmm!"
Gravehowl lifted his club into the air, just before the club fell down on our heads, Ice Blast reacted swiftly and manifested a huge ice shield.
Whoooooshhhh!
Kwackkk!
The shield shattered immediately Gravehowls club made contact.
Visibly not finding his previous attack appealing to his desired taste, Gravehowl glanced at his club and then at the shattered pieces of ice all over the scenery.
I recovered from my shock after witnessing his initial burst of speed. Like something snapped inside me snapped into two.
I bit my lower lip and acted purely on instinct.
"Come out!"
I blasted into the air until I was around Gravehowl line of sight. My target was ready and that would be that beady little head of his tha sat atop his mountainous body.
That was his said weak point.
I twisted my body in midair, the muscles of my shoulder and arm cocked with power. I clenched my fist with every strength in my body.
"M-mm?"
Gravehowl seemed to be stunned by my own speed that countered his, maybe even faster.
Yes, I was faster. My fist moved too fast for the monster to dodge.
Swiiick!
My fist punched out like a bullet and slammed into the side of Gravehowls face.
Ka-boom!
Gravehowl was flung away. The giant villain rolled away on the ground over a long distance before crashing into the skeletal remains of a building and came to a stop.
Rumble, Crash!
I gently landed back on the ground, my eyes wide open with surprise.
"What?... Why did it fly away so far?"
I said to myself, unable to comprehend what just happened. I stared at my own fist in disbelief. I couldn’t even spot a single nick or scratch on my fist that managed to blow away such a creature with a massive weight compared to mine.
Then suddenly my system chimed, pulling out my stats window.
[Present Stats]

"I see..."
After my gruesome training and encounter with numerous oppositions I had gathered quite a decent stat that could very well rival that of an S-Class Hero.
I realized that I had come a long way from riding my skateboard around the city as an E-class hero with no meta abilities.
"Wonder why I haven’t been keeping track of my stats. I’ve unknowingly been investing in my physical strength". I rolled my shoulder while taking a few steps towards the direction Gravehowl flew.
Thunderlash and Ice Blast were both flabbergasted by my freakish show of strength and did nothing but stand and stare at me, their mouths wide with disbelief.
I stared at Gravehowl, still buried underneath the rubble.
I took the chance to Incinerate a few dozen minions along my path.
"I’ve definitely come a long way, I’ve become stronger..." I said to my self as I relentlessly sprayed the minions with golden blast of energy.
The fallen Gravehowl used his massive club to prop himself and stood up from the rubble.
Wham!
