I Have A Baby From My Ex-Husband's Enemy-Chapter 35: I’m Flawed Human
A car drove down a small street towards a large house on the side of the road. The car then entered the courtyard of the house and stopped right in front of it.
From inside the car, three women came out laughing with each other. They looked so happy because they had just returned from shopping at an expensive mall in the city center.
"Oh I was so satisfied when I bought these beautiful bags and clothes. Moreover, the shoes they sell are also very pretty," said a woman with long blonde hair while taking a shopping bag of expensive branded goods from the trunk of the car.
"So am I, Alice. I told you that their store would never disappoint at all. I bought quite a lot earlier too, even aunt Samantha liked it a lot."
"Oh I really like it. I’m glad to have a daughter-in-law who can shop and chat about fashion and these expensive branded items. Unlike that damn woman, she doesn’t even know how to entertain me. Heh, what a bitch," Samantha said as she rolled her eyes.
She was talking about Odelia because that woman never bought expensive branded items if she didn’t need them. She only bought them when Vincent said there would be a banquet or a formal event that was important for her to attend.
They entered the house chatting and laughing with each other, until they saw Vincent sitting alone in the living room sipping his alcoholic drink. On the table were two empty bottles and two full bottles.
"Vin! Why are you drinking this much? You don’t usually drink alcohol like this! I didn’t even know you were a drinker," said Samantha who was shocked to see her son drinking so much alcohol.
"Vin did drink alcohol sometimes when we were together, but he never drank this much. Vin, what’s wrong with you?" Monica asked, looking worried for him.
But he didn’t care at all and continued to drink from his glass. Alice’s eyes immediately fell on a piece of paper on the table. She picked up the paper which turned out to be from the hospital.
Her eyes widened when she saw the contents of the certificate.
"Mom... Mom, look at this!" she said, handing the paper to her.
Samantha took it and read the contents of the letter slowly, as did Monica who was curious. However, afterward they both looked shocked when they read the letter stating that Vincent was infertile.
"Wh-what is this? Vin... You..." Samantha looked incredulous as she saw with her own two eyes that the letter stated something very surprising.
"Heh... All this time all the problems were on me, but Odelia had to take all the abuse... Even the pressure you put on her until she didn’t want to come back," laughed Vincent as he poured another drink into his glass and took a sip.
While Odelia and Sean were blissfully happy, Vincent was in the opposite situation.
He just kept getting slapped by bad reality, as if he had endless karma. Vincent didn’t understand why all this had to happen to him.
"This can’t be right, you can’t be infertile Vin! I’m sure this test must be wrong! You can’t be--"
"THIS IS THE TRUTH, MOM! I’m a deformed human being who can’t give birth to a child! I got this letter after I took the test even at the biggest hospital in town! They couldn’t have made a mistake! But there is something wrong with me! And these are the results!" Vincent replied in exasperation.
Still, Samantha and Alice couldn’t believe it. She was sure that Vincent was a healthy man.
Monica, when she found out about this, was upset because her efforts to get close to Vincent in order to have his child had definitely failed.
’I was hoping I could conceive a child from him, but things have turned out like this! If he’s infertile, how can I become part of the Percy family and get their inheritance?’ she thought in annoyance.
She also didn’t want to have to accompany Vincent for treatment, it would be very boring and take a long time. It’s wasted her time.
’If I had known this from the start, I wouldn’t have come here. I’m tired of trying to get their attention, but the results are disappointing. That damn woman must have known that Vin was infertile. She must have deliberately left and then approached Sean Osbert to eventually have a child with him and get her hands on his fortune. What a schemer,’ she thought with annoyance.
She felt like just leaving the house and not coming back, but that would definitely make them look for her. After all, Yozara’s company was a big company and the Percy Family was a wealthy family.
They could easily find her.
Seeing Vincent frustrated like this made Monica tired but she had no choice but to stay with him. Although being barren is not a bad thing because not everyone can have the same health.
It’s just that, for some people including respected families like the Percy family, not being able to have children is a nightmare. They couldn’t possibly adopt a child because it would be questioned by many people, plus it would mean that the child wasn’t from the Percy bloodline.
’Whatever, it’s better for me to be normal and marry him. The most important thing right now is to get his property first.’
Monica approached Vincent and hugged him from behind.
"Sshhh... It’s okay, don’t be sad, Vin. I’ll be with you for the treatment, you don’t have to worry about that. So you don’t have to worry, okay?" she said gently as she rubbed his head.
Vincent, who was drunk and feeling lonely, slowly calmed down as he felt Monica’s warm touch. Moreover, she spoke softly which made him instantly silent.
Seeing Vincent who was no longer angry, Samantha and Alice felt calmer. They sighed, thinking that the man would go berserk again like usual.
Especially now that he was under the influence of alcohol, they were worried that Vincent’s anger would be uncontrollable.
"Good job, Monica," Alice whispered proudly.
The woman just smiled even though she felt irritated in her heart.
