I Have A Baby From My Ex-Husband's Enemy-Chapter 39: Walking Around The Memories
In the morning, Odelia took Sean for a walk around her neighborhood. The morning atmosphere in this place was very different from what Sean had experienced before.
At six in the morning, everyone was getting ready to open their shops. The smell of warm bread wafted down the alley.
"Everyone had already started working to get ready to open their shops because at seven in the morning, they were already open. That’s why at times like this, they clean up and do their other work," Odelia explained.
"That means your mom too, right? She has to make noodles in the morning," Sean asked.
She nodded her head, actually intending to help her mother. However, her mother refused and asked Odelia to walk outside with him.
"That’s why I’m taking you around. While walking around, we can buy some food. For example, the bread that just came out of the oven. It tastes very good and warm. Especially when we eat it on a cold morning like this," she explained.
Sean smiled and tightened their hold hand. "That’s fine, I guess sweet bread in the morning is no big deal. And it looks like you really want it. Just don’t eat too much, okay?"
"What if Little One makes me do it? She loves to eat," Odelia replied as she rubbed her belly.
He laughed, saying Odelia always used their baby as an excuse. She chuckled because sometimes their baby did always ask for more food by making her feel hungry.
"Alright alright, you can have two buns. Considering we didn’t have breakfast this morning, you will have to save your stomach for that," he said as he rubbed her head.
"Thank you, Sean."
They then went to the bakery and bought the bread Odelia wanted. They sat on the bench in front of the shop and enjoyed the bread.
Sean asked Odelia about Sam’s job, especially when he heard from her mother that the man rarely came home. He didn’t even know about Odelia’s almost one-year situation since her divorce from Vincent.
However, Odelia herself didn’t know what Sam did for a living. Sam used to help their mother serve customers at her noodle shop. But now his younger brother had his own job.
"Mom never told me about Sam’s job. Sam himself rarely replied to my messages because he was busy, and only last night we finally spoke again," she explains.
She was also curious as to why her mother didn’t tell her about his job. It was like something was being kept from her about Sam’s job and it made her very curious.
"How about you just ask him directly later?"
"You’re right, Sam’s home and he’ll want to answer. I’d better ask him myself if mom won’t tell me!"
"But don’t get your hopes up, your little brother might not want to tell you." he rubbed her head gently.
She turned her head while taking a bite of the bread in her hand, making her look very cute with her innocent blue eyes.
The man even paused to stare at his wife. He held Odelia’s chin and kissed her lips, tasting the strawberry jam in her mouth.
"Why are you getting so hard to resist lately?" he murmured.
Her face flushed and then blushed. She chuckled softly and continued eating the bread in her hand. Her face kept smiling because of Sean’s words to her. Odelia was like a young girl who had just been complimented on her beauty by a boy from another class.
After eat the breads, they walked again towards Odelia’s school which was not far away.
"This was my school when I was in elementary school. Back then it wasn’t this nice, now it’s very nice after years of graduating," she said as she showed her old school.
The building looks good even though it still looks a little old, trees adorn the school building yard and elementary school children are seen entering the gate to start their day at school.
Not only that, Odelia also took Sean to some of the places she used to go after school. Such as playgrounds, fountains and other places.
Sean felt like he was transported into the past, Odelia’s childhood which was very pleasant like other children in general.
"It feels so nostalgic!" she said, happy to be there again.
"Slow down, Odelia. Don’t let yourself get tired like that," said Sean then led her to sit on a park bench. "You’re breathing hard. It must be hard to keep going when you’re pregnant."
"Yes, just a little. I need a little rest," she replied.
He shook his head and knelt before her. Sean massaged her feet gently, making her feel so comfortable.
"How are you feeling?"
"Better, sorry to have to make you massage my feet. You didn’t have to, but thank you..."
"No need to thank me, I did what I could for you and our baby. You carried it in your belly for 9 months. And during that time I had to help you feel more comfortable," he replied.
For almost four days they stayed at Odelia’s family home. Slowly, Sean also began to get used to the minimal life there.
Sometimes he helped Dasha tidy up her noodle shop so she wouldn’t have to do it alone. Even though Dasha told Sean not to do it, especially since he was a guest in her house, Sean did what he could.
Until they had to go home the next day because Sean had an important meeting the day after.
’So hungry... I don’t usually feel hungry at this hour,’ thought Sean who woke up in the middle of the night. He looked at his wife who was still asleep.
The man stood up from the bed and walked out of the room, intending to find something he could eat from the refrigerator or drink some water.
As he closed the door, he saw Dasha in the kitchen. From the look of the woman’s back, she was tidying up the kitchen.
’In the middle of the night like this, she’s busy tidying up the kitchen when she’s been working all day.’
Looking at the woman’s body from behind, it momentarily reminded Sean of a memory from the past.
A woman who was cooking a meal, then was approached by her daughter who also wanted to help cook.
Flashback
"Mom, let me help you! I want to be able to cook too, not like Sean who can only get angry for anything!" said the girl.
"I’m not like that! There are many things I can do, like riding a bike! You can’t do that, can you?" replied little Sean to his little sister.
They both tease each other with what they can do to at each other, so one of them can be the best one which made their mother chuckle and rub their heads.
"Megan... Sean..."
Flashback End
"Sean?"
Instantly the man woke up from his reverie and saw Dasha in front of his face.
"Oh, sorry. I was daydreaming a bit, what’s wrong?" he asked.
Dasha chuckled and invited Sean to sit at the dining table. He followed her and sat there with her.
"Are you hungry? I’ll make something for you."
