Chapter 47: Familiar Face

In front of Megan now sat a man wearing a black suit who stared down at her. He was the same man that Megan had bumped into two days ago and accidentally wiped up the spilled coffee with her panties.

"S-so... What’s wrong with you coming and sitting here with me?" she asked, trying to look calm even though she was afraid that he might do something.

"Nothing, I just happened to see you here after buying coffee," the man replied while drinking the coffee in his hand.

"I see..." Megan looked at the face of the man named Lorenzo from a closer distance.

Somehow she felt that his face was familiar and resembled someone she knew, but she couldn’t remember whose face it was. Her eyes narrowed, trying to remember and match his face with everyone she had ever met.

"What’s the need for you to keep looking at me? Are you casting magic on me to make me fall for you?"

"Huh?! Of course not! How could there be such a thing anyway. I just feel like you’re quite familiar. I feel like I’ve seen someone who looks like you," Megan replied.

He only replied by short humming and then asked about her name. It surprised her because she had no idea of his intention in asking such a question.

’Is he trying to target me? What should I do? Should I say my real name or...’

"Don’t try to lie to me if you still want to see the sun tomorrow," he said in a threatening tone.

Resignedly, Megan told him her name. "My name is Megan, Megan Osbert," she replied.

"Megan Osbert?" Lorenzo asked her. "Osbert, huh?"

"You... Know anything or know my family?"

He shook his head, saying he had only heard the name Osbert somewhere.

"I see, what about you? I heard your name is Lorenzo," Megan asked him back.

"My name is Sam, Samuel Lorenzo. Lorenzo is my family name," replied the man whose name turned out to be Samuel.

Megan nodded in understanding as she watched the man in front of her. She was still admiring Samuel’s handsome face with beautiful ginger hair.

’His hair reminds me of Odelia, they’re both ginger,’ she thought at the time.

"So what is your purpose in coming to Dormania? Especially a woman like you, did you come alone?"

"I’m here to conduct business and yes, I came alone. But my employees will come later," she explained as she continued to stare at him. Megan couldn’t seem to take her eyes off Samuel.

"Business? What kind of business do you run?"

The dark-haired woman handed him her business card, explaining that she had a company called Vencarsia that provided decoration services and it was based in Zondalian.

"So you’re from Zondalian? Hmn... Decorating business, huh? Then who hired your services?" Samuel asked the woman again.

"Hmn... The Scavador family, do you know them?"

Samuel was silent for a moment and he nodded, recognizing the family. They were a fairly wealthy mafia family, albeit a lower level one.

"I think six or seven, I forgot about that. Because number one is Lawrence and number two is Scarlett. Those two families are very influential in Dormania, so you better be careful if you get a job call from them," he explained.

Megan nodded in understanding, from their conversation she also learned that the Lorenzo Family came in fourth.

’That means they’re pretty famous too? This guy is dangerous too,’ Megan thought, trying to be cautious.

"So are you the boss? You’ve been in charge of the Lorenzo Family all this time," she asked.

"Do I look like it?"

Megan shrugged her shoulders and said it could be. Seeing how Samuel was quite calm and charismatic like the mob bosses she had seen on television. But he shook his head.

"No, I’m just the boss’s trusted man. If I were the boss, I wouldn’t go out alone like this," he replied as he took another sip of his coffee.

They chatted with each other, trying to break the ice and the misunderstandings that had occurred between the two of them. Megan, who loved chatting and making new friends, found it easy to approach Samuel. Although the man was still closed off, he seemed quite interested in her.

"Oh it’s already 9am, I have to go to my client’s house to discuss our project again," Megan said as she packed her bag.

"Are you going by taxi? I’d rather drive you, we’ll go in my car," Samuel said.

At first Megan was still skeptical about Samuel, she was worried that he was trying to kidnap her by offering her a ride. But Samuel suddenly pulled her nose not so hard.

"I have no ill intentions with you, if you go with me it will be much safer. Let’s hurry," he said, standing up from his chair and straightening his suit and walking to the dark blue car parked across the street.

"Ohh... Wait for me!" Megan grabbed her bag and followed him.

Samuel opened the car door for her and she got into the car. He then turned to the driver’s seat and got in and drove the car away from the cafe.

At the same time, a blonde woman had been watching the two of them since earlier, and she didn’t seem happy to see another woman get into Samuel’s car.

"Who is that woman?"

Samuel’s car drove through the city streets until they finally arrived in front of the Scavador’s mansion. Megan got out of the car and thanked him.

"Thank you for driving me here. Next time we meet, I’ll buy you a coffee, how about it?" she asked.

"How about the day after tomorrow at 8am at the cafe? I’ll wait for you there, maybe over breakfast," said Samuel who had made an appointment with Megan.

Of course she agreed and would see him again the day after. Megan then turned around and walked into her client’s mansion, while Samuel remained in his car until he passed through the gate and finally left the place.
