Mated To The Demon Prince-Chapter 125: Greater Purpose
Darkness gazed at his empty hands. Not only did she take her life, but she disappeared completely from him. She was no longer with him. It was more than cruel for her to die, but it was decided he wouldn’t even have a body to mourn over.
The physicians noticed their king slowly losing his mind by searching everywhere for her. His gloved hands trembled as they moved on the grounds, calling out to her and begging her to come back to him. They rushed inside the cell to stop him.
How did she slip away from him?
How did it happen?
Didn’t she just agree to be his and only his forever? To be his little beautiful queen he could love and worship until he could no longer exist?
Were they not just getting along? Was he not just ready to do anything to make her love him again like she did before?
’’Your Darkness! Your Darkness! What happened?’’
They gathered around him and tried to get him back on his feet as he looked lost and confused by things.
Was this some sort of sick dream or trick being played on him?
He suddenly grabbed the neck of one of the physicians, having the others moving back in fear.
’’Where is she?’’
They all stared at him confused as the one being choked by him struggled to pull himself out of his hold. He stared at the faces of all of them and wondered why they were all so useless. They were all high-ranked demons, and they couldn’t answer him a simple question.
He threw the physician to the side, the old demon hitting the wall and falling down hard to the ground as the others ran after their master barging out of the cell in fury.
He wanted to break something.
Smash many things into a thousand pieces.
He wanted to draw blood until there was none left from a being.
He wanted to...
They all halted when they found their king standing in the middle of one of the partly lit hallways. His demons all stared at him confused all wondering what must have happened to have their king behave like this. The surrounding air grew tense until the point they were afraid of doing as much as breathing so loudly or a bomb might explode and wipe them all out at once.
He brought his hands to cover his face in shame.
’So the guilt of my death will haunt you until you fulfil your promise to me to be good.’
His sobs and trembling form terrified all the demons observing him from behind.
So...this is what it feels like to lose something meaningful to you.
He leaned to a nearby wall in support as he tried to ease the dark feeling that washed down from the crown of his head to the sole of his feet.
And he has shamelessly been the reason millions lost something that is of precious to them without doing anything wrong.
I also deserve to die...but not you.
His eyes glistened with tears and for the first time in so many years did his eyes and heart know pain again. But this one was greater than bearing a thousand heavenly lightning strikes as punishment or being wounded in the eye until you lost your connection to your god state.
It was beyond everything he had ever felt before.
It was too new to him and had a tight grip around his throat that he couldn’t breathe. This must be karma at its worst.
The heavens found his greatest weakness and took it away from him. They made him destroy it— his beautiful precious little flower he had crushed beneath his palms like it was nothing.
The feeling drove him crazy. The intensity of it had him paralyzed on the floor and in the most humble and heartbreaking position you will ever see him in. His cries were too heavy to hide and bitter to swallow.
’’I killed her... I killed her...oh my... I killed her....’’ He got caught up in his own wicked doings and drove him to the point of insanity. ’’I killed her...’’
He sobbed uncontrollably as his greatest fear was slowly unfolding before him like a present. He wrapped his arms around himself as nothing disgusted him the most than what he’d just done.
There was no point in existing anymore.
His only source of happiness has been taken away from him by his doings...the worst is forcing him to continue this sinful world all alone and without her doing fine and by his side.
The horror progresses when their king pulls out a small bloodied dagger pointing it to his chest.
’’No!’’
Darkness cried on top of his voice when Apophis materialized out of nowhere, wrapping its large body around him, keeping him prisoner and stopping him from ending his unworthy self.
☆
There was something unique about this child running towards me with an umbrella.
The officer observed under the rain. Thunder flashing above his head aggressively as he noticed a force stopping her from being harmed by her recklessness.
Your Divines...is she the one you said I will be meeting with today to give her something of yours?
Each step brought her closer and closer to destiny, the great order of heavens and the unique group of divine beings in charge of every world, dimension and all that breathes life throughout space and time. They make gods and give them their worlds to govern over. They enjoy how unique and diverse creation was, and they are dedicated to ensuring balance in every realm.
But a God has fallen and refused to procreate. To fulfil the divine purpose, they had for him. He had committed numerous sins against the heavens and himself. Which, no sacrifice could be enough to erase them all. They saw how uncontrollably distracted God has been with this particular human he met before she was born— a glitch in time.
And she was the only one capable of bringing the fallen God back to his senses, but at the cost of her life.
’’I think your daughter needs this more than I do.’’ He said truthfully to the mother of the unique child as he handed her the amulet he prayed upon for a miracle as directed by the Great Divines. This could be an excuse for the child’s generosity towards him.
He had been a great vessel of the Divine since he was a child. He learned how to communicate with him and was obedient to their desires. They taught him what good really was and what should be considered evil. They were his friends. They opened his eyes to see the fallen God hovering possessively over the innocent girl before nodding to the woman and walking away in satisfaction of finally achieving a piece of the divine’s greater purpose for him.
