Raymond sat quietly as he continued to look at Lena, he never planned to say much because he knew his presence would do the job just fine.

His major reason for coming was because of the deal he has with Lena and that was all he could think about since he came into the meeting.

Since he promised to go slow with her the first month, he has to relinquish control, so he was so happy with this deal. though it is making him crazy but it’s better than scaring her oof, he would go easy with her, till she fall into his hands. So he was patient he would wait like the predator he is and keep scouting his prey.

Raymond noticed that Lena was lost again in thoughts and he chuckled, he doesn’t need to ask her to know exactly what is going on, in her mind.

Most of the directors were fawning over him, most of them came to curry favour from him as he sat waiting for Lena to come to him, he tried his best to be polite to them, nodding when needed and humming when needed.

Most of the directors were happy, he acknowledged them while some were so happy to be out of the conference hall, one particular director even thanked his stars that he did not openly support Mr Rings, he shuddered at the thought of Mr Black finding out and taking it out on him. The horror.

Majorly they all agreed on one thing, that is certain, and that is Smith enterprise was about to soar to new heights.

Raymond quietly observed Liam and Sylvia, he had noticed her surprise and inner conflicts when she saw Liam come in with him, even now she still quietly continued staring at Liam but Liam was doing a better job at ignoring and pretending her presence doesn’t affect him.

He scoffed, what an actor he was, to pretend like he was not affected by Sylvia’s presence in such a way, he really did deserve an Oscar he told himself and decided to ignore them for now, the most important person right now was his kitten.

Lena finally snapped out from her thoughts and hurriedly went to meet Raymond, she was all smiles and cheeky.

Raynond’s eyes never left her till she got to him, he stretched out his hand so he could hold her, Lena being in a good mood did not care, she put her hand in her his and he squeezed it softly.

"Thank you," Lena muttered quietly.

Raymond hummed, quietly looking at her palm and feeling it.

Lena was quiet for awhile before she spoke again

"Do you really have shares in my company?" Lena asked

Raymond raised his head up and responded.

"Yes I do"

Lena was surprised so she asked him "how did you acquire the shares?"

"Easy, I just called the people the shares previously belonged to and offered them a high price for it."

Lena was shocked, is it really that easy she thought.

"And they accepted hut like that" Lena asked exasperated

Raymond nodded his head in agreement.

"How many percentage shares? "

"Fifteen percent, " Raymond responded

Lena made a mental note to check on the company’s finance and stock exchange departments the next day. and also to inform Sylvia to fix a date for a meeting and invite all the shareholders. It was time she brought in new plans to move the company forward.

Lena checked her time and realized she was far behind time, her meeting with hyincinth hove would take place in the hotel not the company, and she just had about thirty minutes to be there, she had to apologize to Raymond hoping he would understand.

"I’m sorry I cannot make it to the doctor’s appointment today, I have a meeting with hyincinth hove, and the meeting starts in thirty minutes.

She huffed before she continued.

"Is it possible that the doctor’s appointment is fixed for another day? " Lena asked, hoping Raymond would not be offended and termed her ungrateful.

Raymond smiled, then rose from his chair and fixed his cloth very well, did not let Lena’s hand go and started moving towards the door.

Lena was surprised but decided to walk with him for now. Liam and Sylvia followed behind their bosses.

I would be taking a trip to Vegas city in a few days, Raymond said. I would love it if this checkup is done today before I leave.

Lena wanted to protest, she really wanted to see the doctor but she cannot afford to slack behind, before the directors rise up against her again. She needs to employ a new general manager, sign new projects to stabilize the company, the project with hyincinth hove will bring a lot of revenue to their company if she wins the bidding. There were many small companies like hers vying for the project.

Raymond studied her quietly waiting for her response.

Lena thought to herself " forget it I would just look for another good project, there is no rush. I really need to go to the doctor’s appointment to get Raymond off my back, so I can focus on better things" she told herself.

"Alright I would go for the doctor’s appointment, I will just call hyincinth hove to postpone the meeting If they refuse I will just let it go" Lena replied dejectedly.

Raymond was surprised that she had a meeting with his company, Hyacinth Hove was a subsidiary company under his parent company which most people don’t know about.

Lena went to her office to pick her handbag and give Sylvia some instructions, before leaving with Raymond. Raymond already dismissed Liam.

Lena was so uncomfortable with Raymond holding her hands, she tried as much as possible to remove her hands but Raymond refused to let go, clearly amused at her little effort.

Lena reluctantly allowed him to hold onto her hand. When they got downstairs the reception was packed to the brim with employees trying to get a glimpse of Raymond, shockingly they were reporters outside trying to take his pictures without coming close. Lena was shocked beyond words.

Lena was lost for words, her face was filled with horror, she wanted to just disappear, most of the girls in the company were throwing flirtatious gaze towards Raymond. She looked at Raymond, and he was composed like he wasn’t aware of what was going on around him. When Raymond’s driver brought the car around Lena hurriedly opened the door and jumped into the back sit.

Raymond slowly made his way to the car, opened the door and got in, he took out his phone to make a call.

"How come I came downstairs and everywhere is packed to the brim with reporters and people"

Raymond snapped at whomever was on the phone, he immediately the person picked up. he was so furious.

" I’m sorry sir, I got distracted for a while and I made a mistake and put your life in danger. I am ready to accept whatever punishment you give me"

Liam responded over the phone.

"If you cannot handle the job anymore, you can as well take a leave and go back to Vegas city"

"I’m sorry sir, it won’t happen again. I will do my best to not fall behind anymore."

"Make sure none of this pictures taken gets out, I wouldn’t want Lena’s face pestered on any blog and risk her safety and find out the person that tipped the reporters off."

"Alright sir, I will get to work immediately"

Raymond hung up the call, and turned to look at Lena. He wanted to talk to her but he realized she was lost and her hands were claspse together tightly. He took her in his arms and held her gently and tried to bring her back from her high thoughts.

"Will they come after me?" Lena spoke softly

"Who?" Raymond asked, his eyes flashing with dangerous light.

"Your fans," Lena replied.

"Oh" Raymond was relieved, he thought she was talking about someone else. " Nobody will come for you," he replied.

"They wouldn’t dare, didn’t you see the reporters staying far away without coming close?" Lena thought and nodded her head and she found it weird too, if it were to be other celebrities or important people like Raymond the reporters will definitely block their way out.

"You don’t need to think too far, just know that nobody will dare harm you in this city."

Lena nodded her head and nestled more into his embrace, since she met him everything has changed for the better and she was grateful. She easily believed him when he said he can protect her because he has already done that more than once .

"Alright let’s go to the hospital" " he informed the driver which hospital they were going to and the driver started the car engine and drove towards the hospital.

When Raymond noticed Lena was calm, he changed the conversation.

"Lena I would love to hear the proposal you were supposed to propose today at Hyacinth Hove".

Lena perked up excitedly and started talking about her proposal, her eyes shining so bright as she talked about it.

Raymond later learnt she was not the only one vying for the contract and that it was for architectural design for one of their latest housing estates. He listened to her quietly for a while, she even brought out her phone to show him most of her sketches of design. He realized one thing Lena was not only insightful, she also had a fresh way of designing.
