Reborn As A Ghost: Time To Build My Undead Army!-Chapter 1736: The Heavenly Demon’s Son
-----
After remembering his father’s words, Wu Lieng smiled. His dragon tattoo gathered into his fists.
Even with his fingers broken, they transformed into the sharp claws of the Heavenly Demonic Dragon.
"Watch me, father... Your son is finally standing up for himself."
He rushed toward the charging titan in front of him. His fists glowed brightly.
The Iron Fist Immortal, in a fit of rage, swung his two fists forward, and then four more.
A barrage of punches erupted.
What would Wu Lieng do now?
What were his options?
His Dragon Eyes calculated everything in that split second.
Everyone in the audience watched with nervous eyes.
Even Maria felt a sense of unrest.
Wu Lieng charged forward, using the Ghostly Lightning Dragonfly Step technique he had just learned. He knelt low before the Iron Fist Immortal, barely avoiding the punches while driving his fists upward into his foe’s chin.
And...
BOOOM!
An explosion of Heavenly Ki erupted, mixed with Dream and Nightmare Ki, shaped like a mighty dragon.
The Iron Fist Immortal screamed in disbelief and shock as his chin shattered and his entire body was lifted off the ground.
He was sent flying into the ceiling of the Dimensional Bubble, crashing against it as the roar of a dragon ascending to the heavens echoed.
"{Heavenly Demonic Dragon Arts}: {Heavenly Ascension}!!!"
"ROOOAAAR!"
The dragon engulfed his entire body, burning him with a massive explosion of heavenly demonic flames.
BOOOMMM!!!
His burning body collapsed onto the ground. The Iron Fist Immortal gazed at Wu Lieng with an expression filled with disbelief.
"What a monster... just like your father... ha... haha..."
His eyes closed as the match ended. Wu Lieng raised his broken hands, all his fingers shattered, exposing bone and bleeding heavily.
It had indeed been a tough, nearly impossible match.
Yet, using the techniques he had learned from Maria along with what he remembered from his father—techniques he couldn’t use until recently when his Bloodline was finally freed from that Gu—he won.
The three battles concluded. The Iron Fist Sect had lost. All the disciples bowed their heads to Maria instantly. They knew they were no match and recognized the sacrifice of their Immortals, though many were crying as they watched their heroes fall.
"Why are you crying?" Maria sighed. "They aren’t dead."
Healing Magic enveloped their bodies. The audience watched in amazement as the trio of Immortals was miraculously healed. They stood up and looked around in disbelief.
They glanced at Maria, realizing she had chosen not to kill them after all.
"What’s with those dumb faces? I spared your lives because you proved your worth," Maria said. "And well, Arthur, Lucifer, and Wu Lieng decided not to kill you."
"I thought you died," Lucifer said. "Well, whatever."
"W-Wha? Okay..." the Older Brother sighed.
"I wouldn’t go as far as killing such a strong and beautiful lady," Arthur said with a gentle smile.
"Huh?!" the Younger Sister blushed at Arthur’s praise. "You think I’m pretty?! Am I not hideous with this body? It’s not ladylike at all..."
"What?" Arthur asked, tilting his head. "What’s not ladylike about it?"
"I-I mean..." she muttered. "Thank you... you’re an amazing martial artist... Your name’s Arthur, right?"
"Yeah, and yours?" Arthur asked.
"Jiang Xiaobo," she smiled. "Thank you for sparing my life and giving me such an amazing battle!"
She extended her hand for a handshake. Arthur nodded and kissed it like a young noble would to a beautiful lady.
After all, unlike Maria who had lived on Earth, Arthur was born and raised in a fancy noble household and taught many refined mannerisms, which he noticed his sister had stopped using.
"Huh?! Hey! Y-You kissed my hand?! It’s hard and full of calluses...!" Jiang cried.
"It’s beautiful. It shows how much you train and how strong you are," Arthur said.
Maria was shocked. This was the first time her brother had shown clear signs of romantic interest in someone.
Then again, it could also mean he simply admired her strength and was phrasing it oddly because he was... well, a noble raised to be respectful toward ladies.
"A-Ahh..." Jiang blushed, covering her face with her large hands.
Despite how huge and masculine she might seem, she acted very girlish and cute.
Arthur had gained striking looks once he forcefully aged his body upon his Immortal Ascension.
And perhaps because he was a foreigner, there was something nice and "exotic" about him that she kind of liked.
Nonetheless, as the two interacted, the rest of the sect watched attentively.
This was the first time their dear Immortal Lady had shown such emotions!
"I can’t believe it! Is that young man flirting with my daughter right in front of me?" the Iron Fist Immortal groaned, crossing his arms angrily.
"He’s my wife’s young brother," Lucifer said.
"Your wife?" the Immortal asked.
"Maria," Lucifer pointed at her nearby, talking with the disciples.
"You mean we could join her family if she becomes his sister-in-law?!" The Iron Fist Immortal gasped, running toward them. "Jiang! Grab that kid! Don’t let him go! Jiaaaang!"
"E-Eh?! Father?!" Jiang panicked as her father rushed over. "What is wrong with you?!"
"Huh?" Arthur looked confused at the approaching giant.
"Hahaha! Now that we’re all one big sect, we should get along, right, Arthur?" he laughed, patting Arthur’s shoulders with his huge hands.
"Sure," Arthur nodded with a gentle smile.
"Heeey! Isn’t he nice? Don’t waste this chance, Jiang!" the Immortal said.
"Y-You mean?!" Jiang muttered. "But father! I’m still too young..."
"You’re already over seventy!" the old man groaned. "I want grandsons already!"
"Seventy is very young for an Immortal!" Jiang complained.
"Hey, what are you two talking about?" the Elder Brother interrupted.
"Don’t interrupt us!" the father and daughter slapped his face.
"W-What?! Why are you hitting me?!" The older brother joined the scuffle, and the whole family started slapping each other chaotically while shouting.
"..."
Arthur slowly backed away while everyone else watched the scene.
Things suddenly became so lighthearted.
Maria had no idea they were this relaxed.
"I guess not all sects are ruled by cruel monarchs," Maria said with a light smile. "Wu Lieng, are you sure about this?"
"Yes..." Wu Lieng sighed, flexing his fingers to regain feeling after Emeraldine healed them. "I didn’t want to leave his children without a father. I still haven’t forgiven him, and I might never... but I don’t want to see more kids suffer."
"...I see," Maria nodded, sighing. "You’re too nice."
"I’ve been told that since I was a kid," Wu Lieng laughed, stroking his beard.
