The CEO's Seductive Doll-Chapter 40: Doll of a Girlfriend
"Yeah." He rolled his eyes at her. "And I have a girlfriend."
Cynthia chuckled as if that were the funniest joke he’d ever made.
Evan didn’t say anything.
"Wait!" Cynthia stopped. "You’re serious?"
Once again, Evan didn’t say anything.
"YOU HAVE A GIRLFRIEND, AND YOU DIDN’T EVEN INTRODUCE HER TO ME?!"
***
Cynthia literally barged inside Evan’s apartment, slamming the door open with so much force that it made a loud ’thud’ sound. Even though Eternity was resting (more like deactivated) inside her room, it was so loud that she woke up.
Eternity rubbed her eyes, groggily sitting up from her bed.
"Evan?" she called.
"Eternity," he replied, his voice nearer than she thought. "Hey, Cynthia—"
Before he could stop her, Cynthia also barged inside Eternity’s room like she owned the place. Once she saw Eternity on the bed, Cynthia’s icy-blue eyes, the same color as Evan’s, turned frosty.
"You." She pointed at Eternity. "You must be the girlfriend."
Eternity blushed, not really used to being referred to as Evan’s ’girlfriend’.
"Answer!" Cynthia demanded.
Eternity urgently nodded.
Cynthia raised her chin, attempting to look standoffish even though her height didn’t permit it.
Eternity stood up, walking toward her just to make sure that her eyes or her estimation were wrong.
It wasn’t.
Cynthia was probably 4’9 in height. Eternity wasn’t tall herself, but she was a giant compared to Evan’s sister.
"Are you trying to mock me with our height difference?" Cynthia raised her chin even higher, as if that would increase her height.
"No, I just noticed that you’re quite—"
Behind Cynthia, Eternity saw Evan making an ’X’ sign with his arms. He was mouthing ’DON’T!’ and shaking his head repeatedly.
"... Beautiful." Eternity smiled.
And Cynthia truly was. Although she was probably what you call an unconventional beauty because of her round features, she was still beautiful nonetheless.
Just like her brother, she had brown hair that looked so silky that Eternity wanted to touch it.
But of course, Eternity decided against it because she didn’t want to give the impression that she was a weirdo.
Cynthia looked at her wide-eyed as if she wasn’t expecting the compliment. After a few seconds, her look of surprise changed into a bright smile.
"Awww!" She gushed. "You’re a sweet one, aren’t you?"
Eternity shook her head, smiling back in return.
"Just being honest."
Cynthia started giggling madly, turning back to Evan to hit him rather harshly on the shoulders.
"I like her!" She shout-whispered into Evan’s ear as if Eternity couldn’t hear her. "She’s a good egg!"
Evan winced at the force of Cynthia’s playful hit on his shoulders.
"Cynthia, you don’t have to whisper. She can hear you just fine," he said, glancing at Eternity, who was now blushing even more, feeling a mix of amusement and embarrassment.
Cynthia grinned playfully, seemingly delighted to have caught Eternity off guard.
"Oh, really?" She teased. "Well then, you better get used to me being around because I’m not leaving my brother’s side anytime soon!"
Eternity chuckled softly, feeling relieved that Cynthia’s initial coldness had melted into a more friendly demeanor.
"I wouldn’t expect you to, Cynthia. Family is important, after all."
Cynthia’s eyes softened, and she nodded in agreement.
"I’m Cynthia, by the way." She offered her hand, and Eternity took it and gave it a tight but not overbearing grip as she shook it.
"Eternity." She smiled.
"Eternity?" Cynthia repeated. "That’s an odd yet original name!"
"The person who named me is quite creative," Eternity chuckled.
Behind Cynthia, Evan looked away with a slight blush on his face.

"Oh, uhm." Eternity tried to speak, but was feeling rather conscious.
"Yes?" Cynthia popped her head out of the guest room.
It seemed like she had already finished settling in.
"I cooked brunch for you and Evan!" Eternity said, and her voice was filled with embarrassment.
"Oh, that’s great!" Cynthia beamed, not noticing the tension in Eternity’s voice. "I was actually getting hungry!"
"Although..." Eternity’s voice turned into a whisper that was completely inaudible.
"Although?" Cynthia repeated, though her tone was a questioning one.
"Let’s eat!" Evan announced this from the kitchen-dining room. "Eternity made food for us."
"She mentioned!" Cynthia yelled back. "Shall we?"
Eternity hesitantly nodded.

As Eternity served the eggs and sausages for brunch, Cynthia looked at the meal with surprise. Her eyebrows raised, and she exchanged a curious glance with Evan. She had probably expected a more elaborate meal or maybe even a home-cooked traditional meal.
"Eggs and sausages? That’s an interesting choice," Cynthia commented, trying to hide her bemusement.
Eternity, sensing Cynthia’s reaction, felt a bit self-conscious.
"I’m sorry if it’s not what you were expecting. I didn’t know your food preferences, so I thought I’d make something simple." She explained that her talking speed was too fast, so Evan knew that she was nervous as hell.
Evan quickly chimed in, trying to ease any potential discomfort.
"Eternity is a great cook, and she wanted to make something quick for us to enjoy together."
Cynthia didn’t say anything; instead, she took a bite from the food. Soon, her initial skepticism softened, and her expression changed to one of pleasant surprise.
"Well, I must admit, this is pretty good," she said, nodding approvingly. "You’re right, Evan. Eternity has some cooking skills."
Eternity couldn’t help but smile, relieved that Cynthia seemed to be enjoying the meal after all.
"Thank you, Cynthia." She bowed her head politely. "I’m glad you like it."
"Oh, silly you! You don’t need to bow and all that!" Cynthia waved her hand dismissively. "But I’m curious—are you part-East Asian? Why are you bowing?"
Before Eternity could answer, Evan intervened.
"Yes, she was born and raised in Korea. If I’m not mistaken, 15 years?"
Evan twitched his face at Eternity, signaling for her to agree with him.
"Ah, yes." Eternity played along. "It seems like my Korean upbringing is still ingrained in me after all these years."
"Oh?" Cynthia exclaimed. "How old are you now, Eternity?"
Evan continued to give Eternity warning glances, and Eternity took it as a sign to be careful.
"I’m twenty years old." Eternity replied immediately, not wanting to make it obvious that she didn’t know her own age.
"Oh!" Cynthia exclaimed again, this time with a different tone. "You just graduated from being a teenager!" She looked at Evan accusingly. "Cradle-snatcher!"
Evan could only laugh wearily, thinking to himself that Eternity could’ve at least given him a higher age than that.
