The Demon King is an Idiot [BL]-Chapter 150: A weak Changbo
Bai YiJun was just as shocked as Hua Tianshu. He thought he was the only one who had come here in search of Jie Fu Lian’s soul.
"Your legs..." Hua Tianshu looked down with a frown as he pointed out.
Bai YiJun, who always pretended to be crazy and used a wheelchair because of his broken legs was now effortlessly standing on his own and looking back at Hua Tianshu as if there was nothing wrong with it.
"We do not have time to discuss his legs," Hua Meifang sighed as she spoke up, "We have a bigger problem."
"Huh?" Hua Tianshu’s eyes trailed down to what Bai YiJun was holding and he immediately felt his heart stop for a second.
It was a weak Changbo...
Hua Tianshu immediately rushed over and snatched the sword away from the man. He poured in a little bit of his own spiritual energy to check what was happening to Changbo.
"Brother Ming split a part of his soul and infused it with the sword," Bai YiJun sighed as he spoke, informing, "But the soul is now getting weaker and soon... Both the sword and soul would scatter."
"This means...." Hua Tianshu did not dare complete the question but Bai YiJun could already guess what the man wanted to ask.
With a nod, Bai YiJun confirmed, "Brother Ming’s body has perished away."
As soon as Hua Tianshu heard this, his mind went blank and he simply could not bring himself to believe his ears.
"We need to look for his soul," Hua Meifang spoke as she gulped. Compared to Hua Tianshu, she was a lot calmer and could think straight, quickly adapting to their new situation and coming up with a solution.
Bai YiJun nodded his head as he agreed with Hua Meifang.
"Let’s split up in pairs and search for it," Hua Meifang added and everyone seemed to agree to this plan.
The pairs were randomly chosen: Yin Ru and Hua Meifang, Mo Yang and Hua Tianshu, Xue Liang and Shi XiuYing, Xian Huan and Bai YiJun.
They headed out in different directions and decided to come back and meet at the same point later on.
The fates of all four pairs were vastly different from one another. While some had luck, others were not so fortunate.
No one knew how long they had stayed inside the abyss since the time inside ran differently than the rest of the outside world.
In the end, nobody came back to meet at the agreed place, and instead, everyone somehow ended up outside the abyss on their own.
Yin Ru, Hua Meifang, and Xue Liang were driven insane by the abyss, and when they came back, they had lost all of their cultivation and their spiritual roots had also been completely destroyed. Out of the three, Hua Meifang was in the worst condition since she had been heavily wounded and on the verge of death.
While Yin Ru was still conscious, she constantly kept saying that they had been attacked by someone else but since it was later proven that she was no longer sane, nobody dared to believe her words.
Xian Huan, on the other hand, lost all of his memories and Shi XiuYing died inside the abyss, never making it out.
Shockingly enough, Bai YiJun came back unscathed and he was perhaps the only one who actually managed to retrieve parts of Jie Fu Lian’s soul.
Mo Yang, who was still quite young, had been protected by Hua Tianshu and hence, he was also able to come back unscathed. However, the horrors inside the abyss surely left a deep impression on his young mind.
Out of them all, Hua Tianshu suffered the worst fate and it wasn’t even the abyss that had made him pay such a high price.
In order to protect Jie Fu Lian’s soul which was weak and slowly scattering away from the Changbo, Hua Tianshu decided to sacrifice his own soul.
However, he had never done such a thing before, and hence, it was only natural that he did not know how to do it.
In the end, he destroyed two parts of his soul while trying to do such a reckless thing. Fortunately, his third try was not a failure. He successfully managed to infuse his own soul with Jie Fu Lian’s weak soul and kept the Changbo alive.
For a short period of time, Hua Tianshu and Bai YiJun worked together, trying to bring Jie Fu Lian back, however, when that did not work, they decided to go their separate ways and both sought out new ways through which they could bring the man back.
Bai YiJun never revealed the fact that he had gone to the abyss and he kept pretending to be a crippled lunatic. Not many people knew that he had parts of Jie Fu Lian’s soul and hence, not many knew that he was trying to bring the man back.
Bai YiJun did everything in secret, facing no criticism for his actions, however, Hua Tianshu was the exact opposite.
Hua Tianshu never bothered to hide his actions. In fact, he always made it clear that he deeply cared for Jie Fu Lian and was going to bring him back regardless of what others thought.
When Hua Tianshu heard people bad-mouthing him, he turned a deaf ear to it and did not bother reacting, however, when someone cursed Jie Fu Lian in front of him, he made sure the person would never be able to open their mouth again. Due to this, his reputation quickly took a downfall and he was infamous for his foul behavior.
He received heavy criticism and his relationship with others only got worse with time.
When Jin Long got married, Hua Tianshu was also invited to the wedding banquet but not only did he refuse to attend the banquet, he also sent a letter back to Jin Long in which he made it clear that the HuiXue sect would not be interested in maintaining their relationship with the Jin Sect.
At first, Jin Long only laughed it off as an unimportant matter, however, later on, he was forced to worry about it since the HuiXue Sect completely stopped aiding the Jin Sect in all matters.
When Hua Tianshu was officially given the position of an elder in the HuiXue sect, many were shocked and unhappy about it since they believed him to be unfitting for the role, however, Sect Master Quan never bothered to doubt his decision.
A year later, The Jin Sect suddenly blamed the Yan sect of harboring demons and claimed that Jie Fu Lian’s wicked actions had been supported by the Yan Sect.
When the news got out, Hua Tianshu was the first one to laugh with joy. He felt as if the Yan Sect deserved to be dragged through the mud.
The Jin Sect compiled evidence of Jie Yang Zan’s connection with the demon king and it was proven that many of the elders from the Yan Sect were actually subordinates of the demon king who were given the title of ’elder’ just because the demon king paid Jie Yang Zan to do it.
Even some of the disciples from the Yan Sect were later proven to be demons and in the end, The Jin Sect decided to become the hero once again by destroying the Yan Sect.
The Yan Sect had quite a good reputation and was one of the most powerful eight sects. However, after Jie Fu Lian’s death, many had started being skeptical of the yan sect and now that their connection with the demon king was proven, people completely lost their trust in the Yan Sect.
Taking the opportunity, the Jin Sect immediately organized a siege and completely destroyed the Yan Sect. They killed everyone and even stacked their bodies up in a pile before burning it all together with the sect.
Just like that, the Yan sect stopped existing, believed to have left no survivors.
When the yan sect was being destroyed, Hua Tianshu had the choice to step in and assist, however, he had no reason to do such a thing. He watched everything happen with a small smile on his face. A few days later, A child completely covered in ashes reached the doorstep of the HuiXue sect and this child was Mo Yang who had been working as an attended in the Yan Sect.
Mo Yang had a lot of injuries on his body and it was quite a shock that he was still alive despite all of that.
At first, Hua Tianshu was going to ruthlessly send the boy away, however, his eyes trailed down to what the child was holding and he gulped back down the harsh words that he was about to spout.
Even as the boy passed out from exhaustion, he tightly clutched onto the shiny dagger that he had used in order to stay alive.
As soon as Hua Tianshu saw the dagger, he could immediately tell that it was forged by Jie Fu Lian.
