The Demon King is an Idiot [BL]-Chapter 66: It’s not your fault
"Hua Tianshu... Why are you injured?" Jie Fu Lian asked as he looked down at the man’s arm in shock.
Hua Tianshu looked at Jie Fu Lian and noticed that his eyes were no longer red. The claw that had come out and scratched him had also disappeared.
Jie Fu Lian had returned to his normal self and it seemed like he no longer remembered what had happened just a few seconds ago.
"W-who did this?" Jie Fu Lian asked as he looked around.
It didn’t seem like an injury caused by a weapon. There was still some residue of demonic Qi left in the injury so it didn’t take long for Jie Fu Lian to guess that the injury was caused by a demon.
"Didn’t that demon say he won’t attack us?!" Jie Fu Lian frowned as he questioned.
Hua Tianshu sighed as he calmly assured, "Jie Ming, Nothing happened."
"Eh?" Jie Fu Lian looked at the man and blinked in confusion.
"You don’t need to worry about it," Hua Tianshu spoke with a sigh, "It’s better if you go back to your room for now."
Jie Fu Lian felt as if he had angered the man by simply worrying about him.
They were enemies so, of course, it was uncomfortable to have your enemy worrying about you. However, although Jie Fu Lian tried to tell himself this, he still felt a little sad and scared.
In this little house, there were only two people and a cat living together. That wound looked as if it was fresh and the cat was incapable of harming the man like that. The last thing Jie Fu Lian remembered was hearing the voice of that damned demon and then he woke up to Hua Tianshu looking at him in shock with a bloodied arm.
Jie Fu Lian feared that he might have been the cause of the injury and that thought scared him a little.
Jie Fu Lian didn’t want to make Hua Tianshu feel uncomfortable anymore so he turned around and went back to his room before locking himself inside.
Hua Tianshu also sighed as he sat down on the floor and looked at the wound with a complicated expression plastered on his face.
Today, he had learned something new about Jie Fu Lian and it wasn’t exactly something he was glad to learn.
Jie Fu Lian was a demon. If not, then he was a half-demon.
Even mind manipulation wouldn’t turn a normal man into a demon so that claw was proof enough of Jie Fu Lian’s origins.
Suddenly, the motive of the Demon King started becoming a little clear.
Hua Tianshu came to realize that the demon had tricked them.
The demon never lied. Everything he said was the truth, but he had still managed to deceive them with his words.
This place was created for Jie Fu Lian.
If Jie Fu Lian killed everyone, he could leave this place.
If Jie Fu Lian was killed, everyone else would be allowed to leave this place.
Even if everyone came together and killed Jie Fu Lian, he would still be resurrected by the demon. The time given was a month. If Jie Fu Lian neither killed nor died in that time frame, he would be allowed to leave but everyone else would be killed here.
All of this was indeed the truth.
This place was created for Jie Fu Lian. In order to unseal the man’s demonic Qi and lead him to kill the people, he was supposed to save. Once he killed everyone, he would be allowed to leave but he would never be able to continue on the righteous path of Daoism.
Everyone else was also allowed to attack Jie Fu Lian and if they could kill him, they would be allowed to leave, but that was only ’if’ they managed to kill him. It was impossible to kill him not only because he was strong but also because the demon king would simply resurrect him if he were to die and hence, he wouldn’t be killed here.
Of course, strength was also a factor. If Jie Fu Lian’s demonic Qi was to be completely unsealed, even if everyone grouped together and fought him, they would still fail to defeat him.
The demonic Qi contained within him was strong...
The moment Hua Tianshu felt it, he immediately understood that Jie Fu Lian was possibly the strongest demon that he had ever faced. If there was anyone stronger than Jie Fu Lian then it was probably the demon King. 𝓯𝙧𝓮𝓮𝒘𝓮𝙗𝙣𝒐𝒗𝒆𝓵.𝓬𝓸𝒎
The month that they were given looked like a generous amount of time given to them for changing their fates, but in reality, it was a trap. By the end of the month, Jie Fu Lian’s demonic Qi would be completely unsealed and he would kill everyone present in this dream. There won’t even be a need for the demon king to interfere since Jie Fu Lian would already become an unbeatable monster that would kill left and right without a thought.
Instead of planning to take down the demon that had trapped them here, perhaps they should have found ways on keeping Jie Fu Lian safe and locked away.
Now that Hua Tianshu started to understand the Demon King’s motive, he knew what he was supposed to do, but at the same time, he couldn’t do it.
He didn’t dare tell anyone else about Jie Fu Lian’s secret...
From the looks of it, Jie Fu Lian himself didn’t seem to have realized the truth about his origins. With this being the case, Hua Tianshu felt that it would be wrong to carelessly reveal this secret to others.
Hua Tianshu didn’t really care if Jie Fu Lian was a demon or not, but the others would naturally not feel the same.
Thankfully Hua Meifang had sent them both to the other side of the city and kept them secluded from the rest. Since they were the only two ones here, Hua Tianshu could protect Jie Fu Lian’s secret and he could also stop Jie Fu Lian from killing everyone even if that meant he would have to sacrifice himself for it.
The next day, Hua Tianshu knocked on the door of Jie Fu Lian’s room and spoke, "Come out and eat breakfast."
It was silent for a moment but Jie Fu Lian hadn’t slept for days so, of course, Hua Tianshu knew that the man was awake.
"I don’t need it," Jie Fu Lian’s voice finally came from the room and as expected, he sounded exhausted.
Hua Tianshu sighed as he spoke, "Don’t act like a spoiled brat."
"..." It was silent once again and Hua Tianshu patiently waited in front of the door with a bowl of soup in his hands.
After a few minutes, he heard Jie Fu Lian’s voice once again, "Aren’t you afraid?"
"Afraid of what?"
"Of me."
Hua Tianshu was a bit surprised to hear this question and chuckled as he replied, "Why would I be afraid of you?"
"Your arm... Wasn’t I the one who did it? I don’t remember much. The demon took control of my body, but I can still tell that I’m the one to blame for your injury."
"You caught me off guard," Hua Tianshu replied with a sigh, sounding completely calm, "If you hadn’t, would a show-off with no supporting bone be able to put a single scratch on me?"
"..." For some reason, Jie Fu Lian’s guilt died down and his blood started to boil with anger.
"Come out and eat."
Jie Fu Lian opened the door and glared at Hua Tianshu who was softly smiling.
"You’ll need the energy to defeat me," Hua Tianshu commented as he handed the bowl of soup over to Jie Fu Lian.
Jie Fu Lian looked down at the man’s arm and asked, "Is it not healing?"
"It’ll heal," Hua Tianshu replied without missing a beat, "Just give it some time."
Jie Fu Lian gulped as he heard this and took the bowl of soup as he apologetically muttered, "I’m sorry..."
"It’s not your fault," Hua Tianshu assured.
"Hua Tianshu, for the next few days... You should stay away from me."
Hua Tianshu looked at the man with an expressionless face as he heard this and only responded after a solid minute, "I’m afraid I can’t do that."
Jie Fu Lian immediately frowned as he heard this.
"Jie Ming, If the demon takes complete control of your body, I’ll be the one to stop you. So I’m afraid I can’t stay away."
"You’ll get hurt," Jie Fu Lian reminded the man.
"It’s okay," Hua Tianshu nodded his head with a sigh as he spoke, "I’ll stop you even if I have to die while trying."
Jie Fu Lian didn’t like that idea. To be more accurate, he hated the idea of Hua Tianshu dying for him!
Jie Fu Lian immediately slammed the door shut on Hua Tianshu’s face and once again locked himself inside his room as he spoke, "Don’t worry. You’ll get hurt but I promise not to kill you."
Hua Tianshu couldn’t help but softly chuckle as he heard this.
He was a bit worried but he wasn’t scared. He trusted Jie Fu Lian and the fact that the man was a demon or a half-demon didn’t change that fact.
Although it seemed like Jie Fu Lian hated him, he knew that the man would never kill him.
