Triple X System-Chapter 197: Common goals
Meanwhile, back at the kingdom. The passage of kyle, known as shadow slayer had disrupted the crowds of people a bit. Erupting in a frenzie of rumors and mixed expeessions.
Some blaming him for the misfortune, befalling the kingdom. While others praised his undying resilience and courage to defy the ruthless king.
Just when it seemed the commotion was dying out, a new problem emerged.
"Huh? Why is it suddenly dark?" A kid with short dark hair muttered.
In his hands were two wooden sword, which he used for squaring off against his piers.
"Did the suns have a black out?" A burly man frowned.
He had curly mustache, with bald head. Dressed in a more slightly above average clothing.
Unlike earth planet orobo’s had more than just one sun. Infact they were three, if one counted. Now one would imagine how such was possible with the planet not being destroyed yet.
And while the suns were 2× hotter than the one back one earth. They exhibited what is known as an secondary rotation. Meaning the planet revolved in a weekly axis around the three suns over time.
While it was complex and a bit mind daunting to grasp. The planet’s orbital path was well aligned with it’s geo zone. Fitting perfectly with it’s atmospheric conditions and diverse environments.
Producing what is known as subdivision geopolitical environments. So it was possible there were black outs, from time to time.
Only for brief minutes though, before everything returned back to normal.
"Look, up there! There’s something in the sky." Someone pointed seeing the massive object floating up.
"What the hell is that?"
"It looks like a spaceship, but with scales?" Another added, sighting the black hardened scales. Surrounding the entire spaceship.
"But why is it here? Could it be a new race from a neighboring planet?" The slim young man with glasses from earlier suggested. Adjusting his transparent glasses.
"Don’t be stupid kid! It’s probably some nasty aliens here to skin us and conduct vague experiments in our butts!" Bane, the butcher also from earlier blurted out.
Attracting mixed reactions from his last comment.
"Everyone calm down, this is not a drill. Preparations are being made to communicate with the unknown craft for possible interception. Please head home, and await further instructions."
One of the guard stationed at the kingdom market square spoke with a calm reassuring voice. Easing the already tensed minds of the civilians.
"What the hell is that thin?" He partner asked, her eyes fixated upwards at the menacing spacecraft.
"I don’t know, but we weren’t expecting any guests." He replied with a light frown, placing his hand to his ear.
"This is private lucias, reporting from the kingdom’s market square. There has been a sighting of an unknown spaceship, a bit above the kingdom." He paused, choosing his next set of words carefully.
"There has been no hostile attempt from opposite party. Requesting immediate communication and possible interception. Awaiting further order." He relayed over the communication device planted to his ear.
"You think they’ll respond? It’s been over an hour now since we lost communication with the castle." Layla, his partner said with a skeptical look.
"I don’t know, but they better do or else-" Lucias halted, refraining from uttering his next set of words.
......
Back at the grand castle of lumia kingdom. It was clear a tough battle took place, with the destruction of several items. Even the ground wasn’t spared in the slightest.
Some spots were scorched blacks, while several small sized craters. Along with spider crack lines running along them were seen.
The once unshakable pillars, halved by such opposing force. Reducing it to the shadow of it’s former self before repair.
There at the center stood a single figure, dressed in black and hold attire. His gaze swept across the room, scanning it. There were traces of blood and carnage wherever he looked.
A testament to the irresistible precedings which occured not to long.
"Why does it always has to be like this?" A light escaped Troy’s lip.
His eyes fixated on the pool of blood, just some meters from him. Shaking his head he got up, the gentle wind brushing against his dark hair.
There was an indifferent yet calm look plastered to his face. Even though he was cleary holding his daughter’s head wrapped in the white fabric.
...
"What happened here?" A figure uttered, shifting Troy’s attention up front.
When flint and marley and decided upon the execution of their plan. They were well aware of the consequences if caught. Punishable by death.
But they were willing to take such a risk, considering it emsured the safety of ona. But after the anticipated set time, marley never showed up. Which made his gut churn in duscomfort, having forced her into this.
Heading back the well guarded castle, crawling with guards was empty at the front?
It was weird to say the least, considering the punishment for abandoning post. But he guessed they were probably summoned by an urgent development.
’There’s no fighting sounds. Could it prehaps be over?’ it wasn’t certain marley would win.
Even after gaining her appearance and copying her ability. There were just too much odds stacked against her. Making him regret his decision even more.
’Interesting.’ Troy silently thought, his gaze lingered on flint.
He could see it was one of his space guards, presumably of definate lower rank. But that wasn’t what caught his attention. No! It was what he carried which piqued the king’s interest most.
"So that’s where you hid her." A light chuckle escaped troy’s mouth. Making flint subconsciously freeze in fear at the sudden voice.
"Y- your highness." He stuttered clearly recognizing that voice. "My apologies, i didn’t notice you there!"
He crashed to his knees, ignoring the jolt of pain. Bowing his head down in absolute frieght of the monster before him.
Ignoring him, troy casually walked over. His eyes glued to the unconscious ona.
"It’s really her." A weak sigh of relief escaped his mouth. Confirming this was the real deal, and not a fake.
"Take her to the medical bay at once." He ordered to which flint nodded frantically.
Overwhelmed by the calm and dominating aura emitting from the king. Standing up, he made his way towards the path leading to the dungeon.
His feet suddenly came to a halt stopping at a headless body.
’Huh? Why’d he stop?’ Troy tilted his head a bit confused seeing flint suddenly stop.
"A- are you responsible this!" Flint stuttered with uncontrollably rage. His scared attitude disappearing and turning into a deep scowl.
A single thick green vein, popped up by the side of his head. Bulging in rhythm with his heartbeat.
"Oh, i see now~ well then, I’ll come out clean. Yes, i did it." He smiled without a change in his expression.
Casually admitting to murder in cold blood like he’d been over it countless times.
"You bastard!" Flunt screamed unable to hold back his rage.
He’d been trying to control himself, stating this was all a bad dream. But in his heart he knew this was reality, and that was truly Marley’s dead body.
"Why?" Flint asked, through clenched teeth.
"She was a threat to the kingdom. I had to out her down before things escalated out of control." Troy replied with a poker face.
Nodding, flint lowered his head down. A conflicted look plastered to his face, staring at Marley’s body.
They weren’t childhood friends or lovers, maintaing a plattonic friendship. Though some questioned their relationship, they didn’t care one bit.
’I’m sorry i forced you into this. It’s all my fault.’ Bals of tears streamed diwn his face, grueving in loss.
As a low rank guard he never went on missions, even marley. Refraining in the confinements of the castle and other minor tasks. So he didn’t experience a lot of deaths.
But now, the feeling of loosing someone close sent him into a state of rage.
"I promise I’ll avenge you." He vowed, making up his mind.
Gently dropping ona to the floor, he faced troy.
"Don’t do anything you’ll regret." Troy spoke already knowing the outcome of his actions.
"I know i can’t beat you, hell! I’ll probably be killed by you. But at least It’s better than living with guilt for the rest if your life." Flint said, causing troy’s pupil to shrink a bit.
’Bam!’
Flint’s body dashed out from place, moving in a straight line like a blur. His fist tightly clenched together, capitalizing on troy’s distraction. To send out a fist to his head.
’Bam!’
His dreams were short lived afterall, as troy easily intercepted his strike.
"You put up a good try, I’ll spare you." Backslapping flint with just enough lower, sending him into an unconscious state.
"Huh? Why’s it getting dark?" Troy wondered seeing the light fading from view.
Stepping out the castle, he stood on the stairs. He could see a giant spaceship hovering in the air, slightly above the kingdom.
Fugures dropping down from the ship to the kingdom. Going on a rampage.
’An invasion.’ It was clear they were under attack, but by whom. No one dared to attack unless they were prepared for death.
’Bang!’
His thoughts were interrupted as an item crashed behind him. Chucking up some derbies, and dust which soon settled.
Revealing a crocodile like humanoid beast, with a large mouth. Sharp set of teeths, and green hard scales running along it’s body.
"Pathetic humans. Bunch of insects for dargons feast!" The beast muttered in a deep gruttural voice.
Not responding immediately, a wide grin crept to troy’s face. Spreading like a wildfire.
"I guess we both have something in common." He grinned, dusplaying Lynn’s head like a trophy.
Causing the dargon to take a step back, shock evident in it’s eyes.
