Wizard: Starting from the Skill Tree-Chapter 423: Light Judgment
Leonard could feel the terrifying presence in the well; he certainly didnβt want to wake it and even less wished to confront it. ππ£πππ°πππ§πΌπππ.π°π¨π¦
So, he thought it would be prudent not to disturb this thing.
However, Duke disagreed: "We appeared here, most likely because of its tricks. Why do you think it brought us here?"
The presence in the well was clearly developing and growing, and Duke and his companions were most likely its nourishment.
"Besides, I think it canβt be that powerful, or it wouldnβt have only dragged the four of us in," Duke said.
After all, Black Oak Town had plenty of slave creatures, including four Level 2 slave creatures.
If this presence were truly powerful, why not drag those four Level 2 slave creatures in as well and gain more nutrients?
Therefore, Duke believed they needed to act quickly rather than passively waiting.
Even though it involved some risk, it was worth trying; watching it slowly grow stronger from here was certainly unwise.
Leonard was about to refute but also sensed the surrounding resentment, negative energy, and erosion energy gathering continuously.
This sign also confirmed Dukeβs assertion; if they didnβt act now, theyβd have to hope the United Legion could arrive in time for support.
But their fate would be uncertain, having been quietly dragged to this place; whether the creatures outside noticed was still uncertain.
If the slave creatures didnβt notice, they couldnβt inform the United Legion, and support would be out of the question.
Taking initiative to grasp their fate in their own hands was indeed a more proactive choice.
Duke didnβt care what Leonard and the others thought; he wouldnβt foolishly wait around.
In just a short time, a large number of Undead had swarmed, relying on the Storm Dragon Eagle and the Three-headed Magma Lizard to clean them out.
Yet, the number of Undead kept increasing, forming a dense mass, making oneβs scalp tingle.
Even the two slave creatures couldnβt handle it alone, with Undead occasionally breaking through.
Duke knew they could wait no longer; he grasped the Blazing Sun Judgment and flew above the ancient well, wings gently fluttering, scattering radiant light.
He intended to use the strongest magic within the Blazing Sun Judgment, Light Judgment.
This Level 2 Witchcraft Artifact seemed to have truly awakened its power at this moment.
The sword became intensely scorching, almost burning to touch, with ancient runes engraved on it lighting up one by one like molten gold flowing.
Vast, pure light energy was unleashed from within the sword, converging, compressing, and sublimating furiously in front of Duke.
Duke poured his own Magic Power into the sword incessantly, with no intention to save it, ready to infuse it all, since magic potions could restore Magic Power.
While preparing to cast Light Judgment, he also told Vivian and the others, "Move away a bit first."
"Be careful!" Vivian said solemnly, knowing Duke was planning to go all in.
Once they moved a bit farther, exterminating the incoming Undead from the periphery, Duke was also almost ready.
Duke looked solemn, hands gripping the sword handle firmly, at the sword tip, all the light compressed into a fist-sized, unbearably bright glowing orb, like a mini-sun.
Within the orb, terrifying energy stirred, radiating a destructive aura.
This burst of light energy was exceptionally dazzling at that place; even before it was fully released, its energy wave already wiped out some approaching Undead.
Duke emitted a low shout, gripping the sword with both hands, fiercely stabbing down towards the ancient well spewing darkness below.
The mini-sun-like orb suddenly expanded, transforming into a blazing white beam over a meter in diameter, pure to the extreme, like the Spear of God, descending with supreme majesty and the absolute power to obliterate everything, striking harshly upon the invisible energy barrier above the ancient well.
This was the result of Dukeβs deliberate control, keeping the beamβs diameter within a meter.
The wellβs mouth was too small; ensuring all the energy could be infused into the ancient well was necessary.
In front of the light beam charged with Light Judgmentβs absolute power, the tough invisible energy barrier was like fragile glass, instantly webbed with countless cracks before shattering with a roar.
The beam continued unabated, wreaking havoc, plunging fiercely into the boiling ancient well.
"Aaaahhhβ!!!!!"
An inhuman, excruciatingly painful, spiteful, and slightly fearful sharp wail erupted from the wellβs depths, clearly inflicting severe injury on the entity coiled within the well.
The blazing white light energy clashed ferociously with the viscous dark energy liquid, causing a devastating explosion in the wellhead.
Black energy liquid shot skyward like crude oil from a blowout, vaporizing and purifying upon contact with the light beam, with countless yet-to-be-fully-formed Undead howling and dissipating under the impact of the escaping energy.
The entire ancient well structure was collapsing and shattering; the intense light even temporarily dispelled the dense darkness over the plaza, illuminating the well and its surroundings brightly.
Leonard and Ella were stunned, mouths agape, instinctively shielding their eyes from the blinding light.
Vivian nervously watched Duke at the beamβs center; a white, transparent female Elf appeared beside her at some point, also watching the scene.
This female Elf was evidently a trump card of hers, emitting an ancient aura, ready to aid Duke anytime.
The ancient wellβs functions were temporarily halted by this devastating strike, with a noticeable cessation in dark energy outpouring; the Undead generation rate sharply reduced, and even those attacking Undead turned somewhat bewildered and confused, their assault slowing.
The originally agony-filled howls from the well bottom turned into an extremely spiteful screech, causing the collapsed ancient well ruins to shrink inward violently.
Immediately, an indescribable, intensely concentrated dark shockwave emerged, mixing with all remaining energy in the well and countless fragments of wretched soulsβ resentment.
It surged like a cataclysmic floodwave towards Duke hovering above the well and all those below him.
Seeing this, Duke waved his hand, and a white energy shield rose around them.
This was previously mastered Level 1 Light Attribute Magic, Bright Energy Shield, just never had much opportunity to use it.
