Only My Weapons Level UP
Chapter 143: Sincerity
Blacksteel Sword of the Fire Swordsman - Lv 16 (20/160 EXP) (Heroic)
Attack Power: 320
Defense: 320
Magic Power: 320
Health Charge: 450/1600
Durability: 1450/1600
Fire Damage Up: twenty percent increase in fire damage when attacking with magic and physical attacks.
Magic Blade: you can fire a skill that causes physical and magic damage in the shape of a curved blade. The range is unlimited and the cost is one hundred points of mana.
Spinning Attack: Defy gravity while spinning in the air with the sword and acting like a saw cutting the target five times in a second. Cooldown time: 10 seconds.
Fiery Impact: Swing down the sword and hit the ground making flames spread around and burning all the enemies in a ten meters radius. Cooldown time: 20 seconds.
"The first skill is weird, but the second will definitely come in handy..." Terry thought.
Just when Terry thought of that, the ground began to tremble a bit and then he saw more monsters emerging from the portal. A bunch more of them. Terry didn’t hesitate in charging toward the enemies and in a single step, he crossed one hundred meters before swinging his sword down and using his Fiery Impact. Five trents began to burn completely thanks to the attack.
The other monsters fired seeds toward Terry that were stronger than bullets and those pierced the ground with ease. It seemed that they were pretty hard too. Still, Terry easily jumped out of their range thanks to the boots and soon he approached again and began to split the monsters left and right. Terry was fine with the levels that the weapon got, but since the monsters kept coming, he was really thankful for the help.
The monsters only stopped coming after the third hundredth was killed. Terry didn’t know why the overlord kept sending them... was the enemy unaware that there was another threat to the humans nearby? Could it be that the overlord of the trents also was aware of the relic that the humans had?
"I need more information... but I should return for now," Terry thought.
Terry had stored more than enough mana after all those fights, so he didn’t have to waste time, he dashed as fast as possible and then used his earth magic when he could see the walls. His little mission didn’t even last one hour, but some people might find it suspicious that he was nowhere to be seen. Fortunately, once he returned to the room, he didn’t find anyone looking at him funny.
"Are those things from a third party that is aiming to target the relic during the chaos?" Terry wondered. "If they are weaker, then aiming for the commotion would be the right choice, even more so when we will be focused on the stone knights... maybe I should talk with Rebecca and Vanessa about this."
Terry assumed that Rebecca and Vanessa would say things like it was weird of him to ask for their opinion now, but they should understand better that it wasn’t time to waste time with behaving like that. Just like he had imagined, Rebecca acted like that for a bit longer than he had imagined, but soon she gave up since Terry was ignoring it.
"A third party, huh... this smells fishy, how far away are they?" Rebecca asked.
"One hundred kilometers," Terry replied.
"Considering that the monsters are Trents, I don’t think that they will reach the battle in time," Vanessa scratched her chin. "Maybe it is just a weakling trying to test their chances in the chaos."
"Maybe... anyway, what you guys learned today?" Terry asked. "Don’t tell me that you just did some sightseeing around the city."
"Of course not... despite the fact that Francis asked for help, the people here don’t seem that worried," Vanessa replied.
"Some look tense, but fearful. Almost like they know that they will survive the battle no matter what," Rebecca said while furrowing her eyebrows.
Terry found that weird. Not even him with his power armor and trait believed that he could survive all battles, so he found it weird that others felt like that. Even more so when their city was surrounded by destruction and they only had a single guild in their country.
"Well, let’s keep doing the same until the enemies attack the walls," Terry said.
Vanessa was fine with that, but Rebecca not so much since she left her siblings behind. At such a moment, he couldn’t help but worry about them. While she wasn’t a guild master, she was the vice leader of Terry’s guild. Targeting her through her siblings was a pretty effective way to harm the guild as well.
Terry told the guild members to focus on protecting the guild, but Rebecca still worried. Terry was also aware of that, so he wondered if there was something that he could do for her. Sending her back seemed the best option, but that would cause other problems.
"Well, let’s do some shopping and see if I can find decent items here," Terry thought.
Terry wondered if he might find items that help with movement speed or instant movement, but that was unlikely, no one would sell that kind of relic. It would be stupidly powerful. Speaking of relics, Terry wondered if he could level up the relic that Francis found... if it was a weapon, then it was possible.
"Maybe I should look more for such things in other worlds..." Terry thought.
Terry found a bunch of things in other worlds, but they weren’t remarkable. Besides, they couldn’t check everything since time was of the essence and they needed to close portals as fast as possible. Terry considered taking others with them to carry stuff, but it was unlikely that they would keep up with them.
"Are you doing some shopping?" Rosalia suddenly showed up and asked.
"Yeah, what about you? Are you following me for a while?" Terry asked.
"Ouch, that hurt a bit," Rosalia said. "You guys must be pretty active in your homeland to think that we are taking it easy here."
