Only My Weapons Level UP
Chapter 144: Strengths and weaknesses
"When you are the only guild around and waiting for the enemies to come to your turf when they have the numbers to destroy everything in a couple of hours, I can’t imagine you guys looking like anything else," Terry shrugged.
Terry didn’t feel the need to hide what he was thinking. It was pretty obvious considering the few times that he talked with Rosalia and Francis. Besides, he hated to act like someone with two faces. Even if someone ends up hating him, it was better to be like that from the very beginning. Honesty is the best policy, maybe not so often when it comes to diplomacy.
"Well, I guess you do have a point... but we fight best when we are defending something," Rosalia said.
"I am sure considering that you are all mages," Terry shrugged.
That it was kind of amazing, but Terry saw that all the people in the city had magic wands with them and ninety five percent only had wands. Their firepower should be off the charts, but at the same time, their ability to take damage was probably below average.
"Anyway, what are you looking for exactly?" Rosalia asked.
"Anything with decent effects and not common ones will do," Terry replied while checking the stands.
"What about that?" Rosalia asked.
The Cloak of Stealth - Lv 01 (0/10 EXP) (Uncommon)
The Cloak of Stealth is a powerful and rare item crafted from the finest materials and imbued with potent magic. The cloak possesses unique properties that make it a coveted asset for any skilled user. It also increases your attack when attacking the enemy from behind.
Attack: 02
Defense: 10
Durability: 10/10
Invisibility: The cloak grants its wearer the ability to become completely invisible at will. When activated, the cloak bends light around the user, rendering them invisible to the naked eye and most forms of detection. This potent invisibility effect can be maintained for short bursts, offering a tactical advantage in stealth operations and surprise attacks.
The cloak of stealth was dark green and it was quite long. Terry wondered if it could get on the way somehow thanks to its size, but its effects were quite good..
"Are you calling me sneaky or something?" Terry asked.
"I don’t know, you tell me since you are taking it to the counter," Rosalia shrugged.
The cloak of stealth was pretty useful, so Terry decided to buy it. The duration of the invisibility would be determined by the mana of the user, but that would give them a good advantage to disappear and appear in the middle of the enemies far away from them. Besides, he was interested in the other effects it will grant Terry. The only downside was the fact that it would only gain experience when Terry kills the enemies while invisible.
"That item is kind of useless since most of us are mages, it is impossible to sneak behind the enemy without exposing ourselves," Rosalia said.
"I wonder how come the population here is of most mages," Terry said. "Anyway, are you this free even though the monsters are marching toward this city?"
"The preparations are over, so we are just waiting for them," Rosalia said. "I can leave if you want, though."
"I am sure you want me here to empty my wallet, so just show me other Items," Terry said.
I has been a while since Terry had used any money, so his bank account was quite full. Still, he found some items with interesting effects, they couldn’t be used as weapons. The best that he found was an electric Sword.
Lightning Blade Lv 0 (0/10 EXP) (Uncommon)
Attack: 05
Attack Speed Speed: 10%
Durability: 10/10
Static Blade: causes ten extra points of damage upon contact and decreases the Enemy’s defense by ten percent for ten seconds.
"I guess I can level this up in the room to kill time," Terry thought.
In the other days, Terry checked the stands, but he didn’t find anything else interesting. At the same time, he went to hunt the trents like usual. Everyday, he had to kill three hundred more of them and while it was useful to level up his items, he wondered why they were insisting when it was useless since he always showed up. In any case, in the morning of the fifth day, Terry stopped moving since he could see the enemies in the distance marching toward the city when he was on the walls.
"Do you think that they will attack tonight?" Rebecca asked.
"If their leader has any brain, they should start the attack after midnight since the people here will get a bit tired thanks to the tension," Terry replied.
"Does the plan remain the same?" Vanessa asked.
"Yep," Terry replied. "We will fight alongside the people here until the overlord shows up. Try not to stand out too much. Just do enough to avoid the fall of the walls."
Since Terry could use earth magic, he also could repair the walls quite a lot. That will take a bit of time, and it was time that he would rather use to kill the monsters, though. In any case, the hunters of the city began to move around and position themselves on the walls and on all sides. 𝑓𝘳𝑒𝑒𝓌𝘦𝘣𝘯ℴ𝑣𝘦𝑙.𝘤𝑜𝑚
They also could see the stone knights slowly closing the encirclement. Francis and Rosalia had a lot of guild members, but despite that, they could only put one of them fifty meters away from each other on the walls. Terry wondered if that would be enough against those massive numbers of stone knights.
"How are you guys going to operate?" Rosalia asked when she showed up on the walls.
"We will fight alongside you until the overlord shows up," Terry declared.
Rosalia looked a bit surprised when she heard of Terry’s plan, it was hard to imagine him waiting obediently. She also hoped that their actions would make the stone knights focus less and less on the walls, but she couldn’t say that out loud. In any case, little by little, the people in the city began to hear and feel the footsteps of the enemies. That sure was nerve-wracking.
