Only My Weapons Level UP
Chapter 153: Preparations
"This will be a bit hard to use, guild master," Clark said when he was presented the griffons feathers. "We are blacksmiths, we work with metal... I am not sure how we can add this to the armor."
"Just see what you can do, you can experiment a lot since we have a large supply and we aren’t in a hurry," Terry said. "We are going to stay here for a while closing the portals."
"I am worried because of that, how can you say that you don’t need the armor when facing those crazy powerful creatures?" Clark asked. "In any case, we will brainstorm and see what we can do about this."
"That is fine by me," Terry said. "I will take the new samples and test them."
In the last week, Clark and the other blacksmiths managed to make twenty copies of the armor, so Terry was determined to make all of them reach level ten. He had some time to do that since Rebecca and Vanessa also deserve a break before they started working on the next missions.
"Making those level up during the missions will be easier, but carrying them around is a pain," Terry thought. "As expected, I really need to keep leveling up the dark pegasus boots."
The boots true potential still was very far away, so Terry had to keep using it. However, he already had a lot of things to level up... it was another problem that was also a blessing in disguise. In the end, Terry decided to focus on leveling up the armors by fighting the Metallic warriors and then training with the boots at home. Even twenty points of experience which was three hours of training would become valuable in the future.
Dark Pegasus Boots Lv 13 (0/140 EXP) (Magic)
Attack: 26
Defense: 130
Movement Speed: 1300%
Durability: 130/130
Flying Kick: a skill that defies gravity for a short while and lets you cross the air and hit the enemy and stun them for a short while. Cool down time: 10 seconds.
Stamina Up: increases your stamina by twenty percent.
"Stamina... I guess I will get less tired fighting from now on," Terry thought. "It would be nice if I could store some like health and mana as well, but I guess it would be too much."
After three days, Terry managed to level up all of the new sets of armor to level ten and at the same time, Vanessa and Rebecca began to work on selecting the place that they could go during the next missions.
Although she was supposed to be resting, Rebecca killed time by making the underground tunnel underwater as well... she really had a weird hobby. Still, at least it reached the land already. She got some magic items that helped her with earth magic, so it looked like she was going to make a lot more progress in the future.
"Since we need to increase our hunting Speed and also test our abilities to destroy a portal without Terry’s help, we have some options nearby," Vanessa said when those three reunited once again. "There is a portal that keeps spawning flying monsters called Bomb Crows. They aren’t strong, but their ability to fly and their fireballs that explode upon contact are annoying. Are the Blacksmiths making any progress with the griffons feathers?"
"Not yet," Terry replied. "It is the ability to fly that we are talking about, of course it wouldn’t be easy." 𝙧𝙚𝙚𝔀𝒆𝓫𝓷𝙤𝓿𝒆𝙡.𝒄𝙤𝓶
"I suppose we can still use our magic to mimic that," Vanessa said. "The portal is four hundred kilometers away, so we can go one day and return the other if things go well."
"You should use the cloak to stay hidden when coming and going through the portal," Terry said. "I will be here while you are away, but we need to be cautious."
"So, do you think that closing two portals per week is enough?" Rebecca asked.
"We shouldn’t make it so obvious, we prepare as much as we can and we do what we can in a short window of time," Terry shook his head. "Don’t close portals close to each other in a sequence, don’t leave everyday and don’t show yourselves, that should be enough to avoid the assassin and their possible friends."
"I see... I take it that you will be moving around while we are here," Vanessa said.
"I guess so, I have a lot of things to do and the items are piling up," Terry replied since he knew that lying was a waste of time. "I will try to find more items and materials in other worlds as well, all in preparation for the future."
"The future, huh?" Rebecca said and then let out a sigh. "I never thought before becoming a hunter that we would be able to close portals, but lately, I imagined that we would be able to pull that off... and then we heard that about the overlords conquering worlds... this will never end, will it?"
The group went silent, it was weird... all of them became hunters thinking that they would die fighting some day, but then they started to have hope... it was a dangerous weapon, hope. It would make people endure hell in hopes of a better future, or it could make people feel even worse and reach the bottom after losing all of it.
"Anyways, we also should find a way to communicate over long distances in case something happens," Terry said. "It will be better to gather Intel as well."
"You sure move at your own pace," Rebecca said and then checked the list of the guild of items and the traits of the members. "We don’t have items that fit that criteria and while some people can use something similar to sending images telepathically, the range is too limited."
"I guess I will check the bases of the other guilds and see anything that fits the criteria," Terry said. "We also should be wary of materials os monsters that have that kind of ability."
