Reincarnation Tribulation - All I Want Is A Peaceful Isekai Life
Chapter 181 - The Haven(Part 10)
"So, you don’t have a problem eating meat?" I inquired, as I took a hit of a bong and leaned back in my seat.
"No, not at all. I actually prefer meat to vegetables," Replied Friese, the Centaur elder.
The horse half of her body had beautiful, snow white fur, and the human half had dark skin, long, curly dark red hair and green eyes. She wasn’t wearing much, just a bit of black fabric wrapped around her chest.
Her human half is really attractive, but even if I could successfully make a move, I wouldn’t. The horse half would sort of make that beastiality.
"Wow, really? Since horses are herbivores, I’m guessing the internal structure of your body is different to horses?" Chimed in Prysm in fascination, as she munched on a banana dipped in honey.
"I suppose so, but I don’t really know," Shrugged Friese in response, as she chugged down a mug of alcohol.
She seems to have a crazy high tolerance, she’s drank more than anyone here and she’s still like one of the least drunk ones here.
"By the way, I’ve been wondering for a while, how exactly do you guys know what Skills you have? For us, we’re required to have this thing called a Status Bar Crystal implanted in our hands, which then display our powers. How does it work for you guys?" I asked her curiously.
"I can answer that, we use our Enchantment power on Magic Crystals, and then by pressing the crystal against one of us, we can find out what powers we’ve awakened," Explained Tania, who was laying sprawled on my knee.
She’d taken several hits off a bong, and got so high that she couldn’t even stay flying. She then perched herself on my shoulder before falling down to my lap.
She’s super light and I can barely even feel her weight on me, so I just let her be there. She dozed off at some point, but looks like she just woke up, and seems to have sobered up a touch.
"What’s the matter, you haven’t drank at all, have a mug!" Suddenly grinned Howll, as he stumbled towards Izzy and pushed a mug of booze towards her.
"No, thanks, I don’t like alcohol," She shook her head, as she took a deep hit off a bong.
Yeah, she’d tried drinking while we were in Kaygee Town, and she wasn’t a fan. She took to weed almost immediately though, enjoying the relaxing high.
"Suit yourself, but you’re totally missing out," He laughed in response, as he then proceeded to chug down the entire mug.
"By the way, are there any half-breeds among your population? I mean, surely two people of different races would find each other attractive and, uh...do stuff," Remarked Argent, as he sipped on a fruit juice.
He had a bit too much booze early on and almost puked, so he’s been avoiding drinking more since then, trying to sober up. But clearly, he’s still quite drunk...
"From what I know, only Dark and Light Elves, plus Werewolves and Kanines, can reproduce through interspecies copulation. But even then, their offspring won’t be a mix of both, they’ll simply be one or the other," I informed him.
"Ohh, so that’s how it works."
"You really are quite well-learned, aren’t you?" Mused Tania as she glanced up at me.
"Well, I do enjoy learning new things. And not to brag, but I’ve got a decent memory," I replied with a wry smile.
"Hah! Now there’s an understatement," Scoffed Prysm in response.
"Yeah, I second that...you tend to remember and bring up the most obscure things like it’s nothing. It kinda freaks me out sometimes," Added Argent with a laugh.
Huh, have I really? I never realized.
"I’ve been meaning to ask you...the powers you used during our duel, you mentioned that some of them you gained by eating Monsters. But you also mentioned that, after I took down my Anti-Spell Field, that you had not used any Skills...that power you used to sink into the shadows, was that not a Skill? Or were you simply lying to provoke me?" Oberr asked me curiously.
Hm...I’d rather keep my cards close to my chest, if I’m being honest. But in the interest of forming a good relationship with these people, I suppose I’ll be honest.
It would be a little bit of a letdown if some of them manage to learn Spells like Shadow Phase and Black Hole as a result of this, since as far as I know, I’m currently the only person who can use them. But it’s fine, it could lead to them being grateful to me, and that could be beneficial in the long run...
"That wasn’t the Shadow Walk Skill, it’s a Spell I created that I assume works similarly to that Skill," I informed him.
"But how? Is it perhaps a Dark Attribute Spell?" Chimed in Tania in fascination.
"I don’t believe it, if that was possible with the Dark Attribute, surely one of us would have discovered it by now," Frowned Arofri skeptically.
"It’s not a Dark Attribute Spell. It’s a Spell that’s a combination of both Attributes. I kinda discovered it by accident. There’s one other Spell that I can use by combining both Attributes, this one," I remarked, as I formed a small black hole twenty-five meters up in the air, quickly dissipating it as I noticed a couple of Fairies getting pulled towards it, "That was close...my bad. This one’s actually pretty easy, just simply combine both Attributes and this is the result, I call it Black Hole, there’s a Skill like it too. I call the other one Shadow Phase, it requires more complex visualization to use."
"Combining both Attributes...I’ve never even thought of that. I mean, the two Attributes are polar opposites, after all. Hm, so simply combining both Attributes is enough to activate this Spell you call Black Hole? Do I do it like this or-...?" Began Tania, as a slightly sloppy Magic Circle started to form.
"Woah, woah, woah, stop! If you want to practice using it, do so when you’re alone and sober! Also, use it with Distance Casting, or you could wind up killing yourself," I warned her, as she quickly dissipated the Magic Circle in alarm before the Spell could activate.
"Yeah, I remember you lost your hand the first time you tried it," Recalled Prysm wryly.
"Mhm, without my regeneration Spell, I’d have been screwed," I sighed in response.
"You used that Spell during your duel against Oberr, didn’t you? From what I saw, it’s like a powerful pulling force that drags things towards it, right?" Spoke up Sinia curiously.
"Yeah, something like that. And anything that’s sucked into it is permanently gone, so it’s pretty powerful. The only downside is that it doesn’t just target one person, everyone in the vicinity is in danger," I sighed wistfully.
"Hm...in that case, why not form a barrier using the Light Attribute, trapping your target in it while you’re outside of, and then activating the Spell inside the barrier?" Suddenly suggested Oberr.
"Huh...holy shit, that fixes the main problem with the Spell. How have I not thought of this before!?" I exclaimed in frustration.
"Wait, does this mean that you just got stronger?" Chimed in Izzy with a gleam in her eyes.
"I mean, I guess, but I can’t use something like this in a simple sparring match, only against enemies that I actually want to kill," I replied, effectively turning down her request to fight me.
"No need to worry about that, that safety thing in the arena here will make that not a problem," She countered smugly.
"...fine, I’ll think about it," I sighed as I averted my gaze.
"You’re not just saying that while you actually plan on not fighting me, do you?" She frowned suspiciously.
Crap, she’s onto me. 𝑓𝘳𝘦𝑒𝑤𝑒𝘣𝘯ℴ𝘷𝘦𝓁.𝑐𝑜𝑚
"Nooo, of course not," I responded dryly.
"That tone is annoying," She muttered as she tossed a grape at me, which I caught between my teeth and munched down on.
Looks like this party is close to an end now...a lot of the Demi-Humans have passed out, including Tania, who’s snoring on my leg right now. Sinia was also asleep, curled up on the ground.
"Maybe enchanting the alcohol and marijuana to be stronger wasn’t the best idea," Mused Oberr, as he stared around in bemusement.
"Nah, I think it’s just that everyone wasn’t prepared for how much stronger the intoxicants became. You can get a lot more drunk and high with the enchanted stuff, meaning that you can consume less but still enjoy it to the fullest, which further means that you can the stuff last longer instead of finishing a large amount in one go," I pointed out with a shrug.
"Hm, yes, that’s a good point..."
Gotra say, this is pretty nice. I’m glad we came here...I mean, it’s not even been a full day since we got here and I’ve already been able to improve my use of my Black Hole Spell. Here’s hoping that trend continues throughout our stay here...
