Chapter 247 - Obsidian Civil War(Part 12)
Point-of-View: Gior King Ohph

A Contract, huh? Well, this is gonna be a pain to deal with.
I took a few wary steps back as she tranformed, her arms morphing into wings as dark blue feathers sprouted all across her body, her mouth and nose extending forward and turning into a beak, before she spread her wings out and flew up.
She said Garuda when she chanted to activate her Contract, that’s a Demonic Grade Monster, a humanoid bird-like creature known to have incredible speed. I need to keep my guard up or this could get really ugly for me...
"No need to look so tense, torturing opponents is a waste of energy, so...I’ll finish this quickly," She remarked, before swooping down towards me with alarming speed.
I quickly jumped off to my right as she swung her leg across towards my chest, grimacing as the talons on her foot cut through my armor and grazed my skin.
I spun around and slashed at her with my Bowblade, but she was already back up on the air...she’s definitely a lot faster than she was before, this is bad.
As she swooped down at me again, driving her sharp beak towards my throat, I jumped out of the way again, the tip of her beak piercing into my right shoulder and dragging across as she flew back up and evaded as I fired out a wind slash at her, cutting off a couple of feathers but inflicting no real damage.
"Just stay still and let me kill you. Otherwise, I’m going to have put in more effort and you’ll be in a lot more pain. It’s in your best interest to stop moving around. Don’t dodge this time."
"Yeah, I don’t think so."
"Ugh, fine, then..."
She then continued to repeat the same attack pattern, swooping down to strike me before flying back up, doing it over and over. I was covered in cuts all over my arms and torso, blood trickling down across my body.
"This is such a pain, just stand still...at this rate, I’ll keep wearing you down until you collapse from blood loss, you’re just delaying the inevitable. Save us both some time and stop dodging," She sighed, as she paused up in midair briefly before she swooped down at me again, slashing her talons across at my throat.
She really is incredibly fast, but...
I grimaced as her talons sliced across the skin above my collarbone before she flew back up and immediately swooped back down again, swinging her talons towards my eyes.
She grazed the bridge of my nose as I arched my body back, blood trickling down my face as I evaded the slash, taking in a deep breath to compose myself as she flew back up.
Okay, I think I’ve got it now...
As she swooped down towards me again, I planted my feet firmly as she closed in on me, swinging her talons across at my stomach with immense speed...and as she flew in within my range, I paused for a brief moment, waiting for the right timing before I unleashed a rapid horizontal slash of my blade as she got within my range, gasping in pain as her talons struck and pierced into my stomach.
But I didn’t let that slow down the swing of my blade, grabbing hold of her ankle and sharply tightening my grip around it as my blade closed in on the side of her neck.
She quickly tilted back her upper body in alarm as she tried to pull her leg free of my grasp, letting out a stifled cry of pain as my blade deeply slashed across her chest, blood gushing out as she finally managed to wrench her foot free, starting to fly back up.
But in her rush, and the brief time between my attack landing and her breaking free of my grasp, I had the opening I needed. I swiftly reached out and grabbed hold of her left wing before she could fly up, her eyes widening in horror as I unleashed a vicious upward swing of my blade...and cut her wing right off, my blade piercing her skin and slicing through the flesh and bone at the base of her wing, slashing it off as blood gushed out of the stump that was left where her wing used to be.
As she screamed in pain, I swung her severed wing across in her direction, splattering blood onto her eyes to blind her, before swiftly tossing the wing away and leaping straight at her, eliciting a sharp gasp of pain from her as I plunged my blade straight into the middle of her chest, before twisting the blade sharply as it burst out her back.
I then switched it to bow mode, charging up a lightning arrow inside her body and unleashing it, causing her to let out an excruciating scream of agony, before I sharply wrenched my blade out of her body and slammed my foot onto the middle of her torso, sending her flying back and hitting the ground with a painful thud.
I exhaled slowly before approaching her, as blood pooled around her body from her armless shoulder and the stab wound I’d inflicted with my Bowblade, the effects of her Contract wearing off as she returned to her normal state, still missing an arm.
"O-ow, fuck, this hurts so much...hey, if you’re going to kill me, do it quickly. I’m in enough pain as it is, there’s no reason to make me suffer any more than this, is there?" She remarked with a pained, defeated smile as stepped over her and raised my blade.
"I don’t understand why someone like you joined the True Nobility...you don’t seem to have any real malice towards Commoners, you could’ve avoided being killed had you just avoided joining them. Unlike with most Nobles, I don’t feel any particular resentment towards you...so I’ll honor your request," I replied quietly, before whipping my blade across at her neck, decapitating her in a rapid, swift motion...
