Chapter 266: Chapter 266 - Lucifer(Part 5)

"I appreciate you cooperating with us...honestly, if I were you and I’d gone through what you did, I’d probably want to kill at least a few people before leaving," I remarked wryly, as we made it out of the capital and reached the rendezvous point, hidden in a small grove of trees about half a kilometer outside the city.

"Yes, I can’t deny that that temptation was certainly there, the thought of massacring those bastards definitely crossed my mind...but since Izzy is currently buying time for us, I wouldn’t want to make her job more difficult," Replied Lucifer, as she stretched her arms up and took in a deep breath, staring up at the sky.

"Here, you’re probably gonna want some clean clothes. Take your pick from these," I offered, as I took out a bunch of outfits out of my Pocket Dimension and handed them to her.

"Oh, thank you, I appreciate it," She nodded gratefully...before proceeding to tug off the tattered clothes she was wearing.

Nice.

"U-uh, don’t you want some privacy?" Argent stuttered slightly as he looked away.

"Hm? Oh, not really, I don’t particularly care about that," She shrugged indifferently, before going through the clothes I’d handed to her once she was completely naked.

If she doesn’t mind, then it’s okay to stare, right?

"Come to think of it, nudity didn’t particularly bother Izzy when I first met her either..."

"Well, I’m definitely not complaining," I remarked wryly, as she picked out and put on a dark red tank top and black shorts.

"I have never understood how you humans get so easily aroused. Hm, I suppose it could be because you live such short lives, and therefore have a more urgent need to procreate," She mused thoughtfully.

I mean...considering that there are only five Demons left now, most of whom are sealed away, the urgent need to procreate, as she put it, might not be such a bad thing...

"Don’t take this the wrong way, but you seem pretty well-adjusted for someone who’s been effectively enslaved for a couple of centuries," Said Argent in bemusement.

"Yeah, your sanity seems surprisingly intact," I added in agreement.

"Well, I can’t deny that my mind had been starting to break, but seeing Izzy again helped me collect myself and regain a semblance of sanity. Additionally, it was like I was in a deep sleep for most of the time I was under those humans’ control, it certainly hasn’t felt like two centuries, so-...," Explained Lucifer, before trailing off as a voice echoed out from above.

"Sister!" Came Izzy’s voice, as she came swooping down and tackled Lucifer in a hug, a joyful look on her face as she knocked her down onto the ground.

"W-woah, easy there, kiddo," Smiled Lucifer fondly, patting Izzy’s head as both of them teared up, their emotions overwhelming them.

"I-I’m...I’m so glad you’re okay!" Cried Izzy as she began sobbing, tears streaming down her face.

"Yeah...I’m glad you’re okay too, it’s so good to see you after so long," Replied Lucifer quietly, her voice cracking slightly.

"Argent, Larrk...thank you guys so much, I’m so grateful to you two. Thank you," Remarked Izzy with an emotional smile as she turned towards us.

"Hey, don’t mention it, you’re basically family at this point, so it’s only natural," I responded with a shrug, feeling a bit embarrassed after saying that.

"Yeah, exactly, there’s no reason to thank us," Added Argent with a nod of agreement.

"I suppose I should thank you as well...it does feel strange thanking humans, but Izzy clearly trusts you two, and you even got Azazel to agree to form a Contract with you, I would never have believed that if I wasn’t seeing it for myself," Chimed in Lucifer as she glanced at me.

I do feel a slight sense of wariness from her towards us, but it’s not particularly significant. Actually, considering what she’s been through, I’m surprised she’s even letting her guard down around us this much.

"We should probably get moving soon. The Knights might come after us, and while they’re not really a particular threat to us, I’d still prefer to avoid a fight if possible," I remarked, stretching my arms up as I manifested my Demon wings.

"And where exactly do you intend to go? I don’t particularly like the idea of living in hiding," Frowned Lucifer apprehensively.

"I’m sure you’re in the mood to kill some humans, aren’t you? Well, you’re in luck...because in a few days, we’ll be heading to a different nation and taking it for ourselves. There’s another Demon sealed away there too, don’t know who it is, but still, it’s a start. We’d like you to team up with us to accomplish that, you’re not obligated to if you don’t want to, of course, but I think you’ll find this to be in your best interest," I replied with a smile.

"And what do you intend to do after taking over this nation and freeing the Demon sealed there? I’ll make my decision after hearing your answer," She responded after a brief pause.

"That’s fair. It’s simple, really...once we kill the rulers of that nation and anyone else who may oppose us, we’ll turn it into a safe space for all races. Humans, Demi-Humans, and of course, Demons. No prejudice and no class system, it’ll be a society where everyone’s treated equally.

And after that, we can negotiate with the other two nations that still have captive Demons sealed away, something like forming a non-aggression pact if they hand the sealed Demons over without a fuss. If that works out, the new nation we establish will be powerful enough that none of the other nations will dare mess with us, and with that, I’ll have finally achieved my ultimate objective," I surmised with a sense of anticipation.

"And that objective would be...?"

"It’s simple, all I want is a peaceful life in this world, nothing more, nothing less." 𝐟𝚛𝕖𝚎𝕨𝗲𝐛𝚗𝐨𝐯𝐞𝕝.𝐜𝗼𝗺
