Reincarnation Tribulation - All I Want Is A Peaceful Isekai Life
Chapter 267 - Return to the Haven(Part 1)
"Alright, this looks workable...but aren’t our numbers a bit inadequate? I can certainly handle myself while being outnumbered, but you humans are far more fragile and weak," Remarked Lucifer with a raised eyebrow, as I finished concluding the outline of my plan of attack against Hematite.
"Well, we will be counting on you do take on a fair share of the heavy lifting, true, but it won’t be just you...Izzy and myself will also take to the fore of the battle," I informed her.
"Yeah, I’ve gotten a lot stronger, sister, I can use more than half of my full power now without losing control," Grinned Izzy smugly.
"Oh, you can? If that’s really true, then you might now be even more powerful than I am. As for you, human, I have my doubts that you can measure up at the same level...you may have formed a Contract with Azazel, but I highly doubt that means you’re on par with us," Frowned Lucifer as she glanced at me.
"Azazel certainly provided me with a substantial power boost, I’m not denying that, but I’ve got plenty of tricks of my own. Like this, for instance," I smirked, as I formed a ball of blue flames, her eyes widening in disbelief.
"What? Dragon fire? How is this possible!?" She blurted out in bewilderment.
Today’s the 12th of Maius, 2020, a couple of days have passed since we broke Lucifer out of prison. We were currently in a room at an in in Cusch Town, Prysm teleported us into the room so that Lucifer and Izzy wouldn’t need to walk through the town.
All of us who were going to be a part of the attack on Hematite were here, there was myself, Izzy and Lucifer, of course, plus Argent, Rhyle, Prysm, Lumena, Rosary, Ilex, Gior and Phyurio.
So, eleven people in total. Rhyle insisted on joining in, despite the fact that he’s far from being at a hundred percent...that said, he’s in much better shape than a person normally would be after being in a coma for about half a decade.
I wonder if that’s because Izzy used her Negative Energy to heal him, maybe that had some kind of positive side effect that prevented his body from deteriorating while comatose?
That’s the only explanation I can think of, there’s nothing else that makes sense.
We’ll launch our attack soon, once we finish developing and fleshing out our plans. But I am starting to wonder if just eleven people will be enough, I don’t want anyone on our side dying to accomplish this...
"I’m fairly confident that I can inflict a fair bit of widespread destruction and handle myself against a large number of enemies. My offensive capabilities aside, I’m pretty damn hard to kill," I remarked, as I dissipated the ball of blue flames and turned my hand into slime to illustrate my point before returning it back to normal, before adding, "The same may apply to you and Izzy as well, but can’t say the same about everyone else here...you’re all pretty powerful and capable, but with the exceptions of Prysm, Lumena and Gior, who possess the Light Attribute, the rest of you can’t heal yourselves."
"So, what do we do, then? While I certainly support your objective in doing this, to establish a nation of equality, I’m not particularly eager to join in if my chances of surviving are low," Chimed in Rosary.
"Honestly, even with this small group, I still think the odds are in our favor. Not only are our targets already drastically weakened by their own civil war, they’re bound to be incredibly exhausted by this point as well. Therefore, so long as we don’t get careless, I’d wager we’ve got a pretty decent chance of taking over Hematite without any causalities on our end. But adding a few more capable fighters to our ranks would improve the odds of accomplishing that even further...but we can’t exactly recruit any Adventurers to help us with this, certainly not the Knights," I sighed wryly.
"Hm, in that case...maybe we should try requesting help from the Haven?" Suggested Argent hesitantly.
"Um, what’s the Haven?" Inquired Ilex curiously.
Oh, right, outside of me, Argent, Izzy, Prysm and Rosary, none of the others know about the Haven. I probably shouldn’t reveal too much...
"It’s the place where we were laying low after the True Nobility first attacked, can’t say much more than that. As for requesting help from them, well...I suppose we should at least inform them of our plan, maybe we can get some insight by seeing their perspective on the matter. There’s a good chance that they won’t agree to help us with the actual battle since they’re averse to conflict, but it’s worth a shot, at least. Alright, then...Prysm, teleport me there," I decided after mulling it over.
"You mean right now?"
"Mhm, no time like the present, right?" I replied with a nod.
"Okay, then," She responded, walking over and taking hold of my hand.
"Alright, guys, continue brainstorming the details of the plans, we’ll be back before too long," I remarked, before Prysm chanted and teleported us.
As our surroundings changed, I took a deep breath and slowly exhaled as the familiar sight of the Haven met my gaze, taking in the fresh air.
"Wha-...!? Oh, it’s you two...you startled me," Came a voice to our left, looks like a guard.
We’d teleported right around the spot at the bottom of the entrance that leads down to the Haven, atop the small cliff overlooking the main area.
"Hey, how’s it going? I know this is super short notice and all, but we’d like to meet with the Elders, if that’s possible?" I greeted him with a smile.
