Chapter 368: Chapter 368 - Double Date(Part 1)

"Hey, relax, there’s no need to be so nervous, we’re just going out to have fun, that’s all," I remarked, as I patted Argent on the back.

"Ohh, I beg to differ. Considering who suggested this, there’s no way I’m not going to be dreading every second of this outing until it’s over," He replied with a grimace, as he tidied up his hair while standing in front of the mirror.

Today’s the 30th of Junius, 2021, and I was currently with Argent in our house, getting ready to go out...for a double date with my parents.

Father had suggested it yesterday, and I thought it sounded like fun so I agreed. But when I got home and told Argent about it, he was less than thrilled with the idea. I suppose I should have figured as much, all things considered.

"You’re overthinking it, I know father can be a bit harsh towards you, but I doubt he’d go out of his way to spoil this outing for all of us," I pointed out.

"Maybe, but I doubt that he wouldn’t go out of his way to spoil it for me. The guy’s literally never been nice to me, and I don’t see that changing today."

"I really don’t think he’d do that...you earned his respect during your fight in the tournament, he said so himself, so he sees you in a more positive light than he did before," I reasoned, trying to get him to relax.

"At best, it’s a grudging respect. He’s still a jerk to me whenever I see him," He huffed in response, before adding, "It isn’t too late to cancel, maybe we can say that we got sick or something."

"I don’t get sick though. And if we say that only you’re sick, he’ll probably realize that it’s just an excuse, and that’ll lead to him losing respect for you. And then he’ll be even more of a jerk to you."

"Damn it, that’s a good point...but I really don’t want to do this, it’s going to be such a pain dealing with him."

"Hey, don’t worry. If he tries to antagonize you, I’ll keep him in check, okay?" I assured him as I took hold of his hand and gave it a slight squeeze.

"No, you don’t have to do that...if it comes down to it, I’ll defend myself. Don’t want to give him another reason to look down on me, after all," He replied with a wry smile, before giving me a kiss on the forehead.

Huh, not sure why, but that seemed to calm him down a tiny bit.

"Let’s get going now...it’s almost time to meet them," I remarked as I glanced at the time.

"Yeah, alright, I suppose we should. What’s the plan for the day, by the way?"

"Well, big sis Lucy told father about our outing with the Dragon Kings to the arcade and I guess that piqued his interest, so we’ll be going there first, and then have dinner somewhere after we’re done with that," I informed him.

"I see...no doubt he’ll challenge me to some of the games in the arcade. That’s fine by me though, I don’t mind a bit of competition," He replied with a thoughtful nod.

"Yeah, he probably will, I can’t deny that," I admitted sheepishly, as we walked out of the house and locked the door behind us.

We then used a teleportation Magic Item to go to the area where we were supposed to meet my parents, glancing around as we reappeared there.

"I don’t see them. Well, we do have a few minutes left...should we wait out here for them or head into the arcade? It is kinda hot out today, I’d rather not stand in this heat for too long," He mused as he wiped his brow.

"Yeah, let’s go inside. Standing and waiting around is annoying, heat or not, and it’ll be much easier to pass the time in there," I nodded, before taking out my phone and texting father as we headed towards the arcade.

"Ahh, nice and cool," Argent sighed contentedly as we walked in, the building pleasantly cold and air-conditioned.

I’m a lot less sensitive to changes in temperature than he is, but I do prefer the cold. I probably get that from my Demon side, since mother isn’t all that fond of the cold.

She isn’t particularly weak to it or anything, but she’s a lot more comfortable in warmer climates...I’m guessing that has something to do with the fact that she’s the Plasma Dragon King.

Come to think of it, Liquaqua and Aereeze prefer the cold, while Terrastra prefers it warmer like mother does.

"Oh, there they are," Suddenly came mother’s voice from behind us, before the two of us turned around, to see her and father approaching.

"It’s good to see you, Izzy," Smiled father as he walked over and patted my head.

"Yeah, likewise."

"Though I can’t quite say the same about you," He remarked dryly as he glanced at Argent.

"Funny, I was just thinking the same thing about you," He responded with a defiant smirk.

"I must say, your unprovoked rudeness towards him is rather unpleasant," Said mother as she glanced at father with a slight frown.

"Wha-...n-no, I wasn’t-..."

"You definitely were. If you only suggested this because you wanted to use it as an opportunity to be mean to Argent, then I’m gonna stay away from you for a while," I huffed indignantly.

"I-I was just joking around, that’s all, don’t take it so seriously...," He muttered as he averted his gaze.
