Chapter 387: Chapter 387 - Vampire Attack(Part 13)

My eyes widened in horror as Jevera drove her claws through Liquaqua’s stomach, her arm plunging in and bursting out her back.

Blood poured out of Liquaqua’s mouth as she gasped sharply in pain, as a smirk spread out across the Vampire’s lips, letting out a chuckle.

I...I need to get up. But the pain from her last attack is preventing me from mustering up my strength...c-come on, move...!

"And just like that, that’s one down," Laughed Jevera, starting to pull her arm back out before wincing as Liquaqua swiftly grabbed her forearm, digging her claws in with a grimace as blood trickled down the corner of her mouth, "L-let go, you damned lizard! Just accept your defeat and die!"

"It’s true, I am about to die, this injury is fatal...but I refuse to die in vain. If I’m going down, then I’m taking you with me!" Snapped Liquaqua with a steely look of determination in her eyes, before letting out a roar of exertion as she sharply tightened her grip on Jevera’s arm and twisted violently.

A loud crunch echoed out as she broke the Vampire’s elbow, eliciting a stifled yell of pain from her, before Jevera gritted her teeth and charged up an explosive mass of energy in her other hand, starting to drive it towards the side of Liquaqua’s head.

I quickly began to take aim to try and stop her attack, before my eyes widened in surprise as I spotted several rapid blurs shooting forward in my peripheral, several blades zipping towards Jevera with immense speed.

"What the-...?" She began as she quickly turned her gaze across right as the blades closed in on her, her reaction a fraction of a second too late.

Before she could block or evade the blades, they spun across rapidly and sliced off her arm, before one of the blades shot down and batted the severed arm away before the explosive energy could hit the ground, knocking it several meters back before an intense explosion erupted as it hit the ground a good distance behind Jevera.

"Thanks for disregarding me, you’re about to regret that," Remarked the human woman shakily, having regained consciousness but still looked quite dazed, before her eyelids fluttered shut as she passed out again.

She is far more injured than I am, on top of the fact that her body is more fragile than mine...and yet, she was still able to muster up enough strength to inflict such a crucial blow. I...I can’t let myself stay down any longer, I-I need to fight!

"D-damn you-...!" Jevera began furiously, before tensing up as Liquaqua swung her head forward.

She clamped her jaws around Jevera’s right shoulder, sinking her fangs in before unleashing a pressurized burst of water from her mouth, violently blasting the Elder Vampire’s right arm off.

Blood gushed out of her right shoulder as her left forearm rapidly regenerated, before a massive eruption of water burst around Liquaqua, engulfing Jevera and taking the form of a floating sphere before several deep cuts suddenly appeared across the Vampire’s body, as Liquaqua controlled the water surrounding her and unleashing slicing shockwaves towards her, inflicting deep gashes all over her.

A gurgling yell rang out as Jevera roared in a seething rage, her body glowing ominously before a devastating explosion burst out, the force of the blast breaking the water sphere apart and sending Liquaqua flying back, skidding along the ground before coming to a screeching halt across the dirt.

She coughed out blood as she struggled to get back onto her feet, blood pouring out of the hole through the middle of her body.

"I-I’ll admit, that was impressive...but ultimately futile. You’ll die in vain, after all," Remarked Jevera shakily, before composing herself as she began to regenerate.

My body trembled in pain as I finally managed to get back onto my feet, my knees wobbling as I stumbled back slightly, before taking deep breaths to try and ready myself to attack.

"I...I can feel it...my consciousness is fading fast, it won’t be long before I cease to exist. But you’re wrong...I won’t die in vain!" She exclaimed, before letting out a deafening roar of exertion as she raised her hand towards Jevera...right before several spots across the Vampire’s body burst open from the inside out.

"Wh-wha...!?" She gasped in pain, as sprays of blood erupted out of her body.

"I managed to...inject a fair bit of my...water into your...body earlier...," Uttered Liquaqua weakly, a puddle of blood on the ground around her.

"N-no...no, no, NO, NO, NO!!! M-my...my core!" Screamed Jevera in horror, clutching the middle of her left thigh with a look of despair on her face.

My eyes widened as I noticed that she wasn’t regenerating anymore, blood streaming down her body.

"Heh...serves...you...right...," Spoke Liquaqua with a smile, before her eyes rolled back and she fell over, her body going limp as she collapsed onto the ground.

N-no, this...this can’t be. She can’t really be gone...

"Th-this isn’t happening...! I...I need to get away!" Stuttered Jevera, as she took out a Magic Item and pressed a button on it, before tossing it away and taking out another Magic Item.

"You’re not getting away!" I snarled furiously, as I shot towards her despite the intense twinges of pain across my torso, before I whipped my claws across and unleashed a rapid slashing wave of wind towards her, hitting the middle of her forearm and slicing through.

Her arm hit the ground with a thud, the Magic Item skidding away before I closed in on her and grabbed hold of the side of her head, pushing forward and driving her down, before slamming her head onto the ground with all my strength.

"What’s the matter? You seem afraid. How strange...aren’t you supposed to be a superior being?" I inquired icily, as I pressed her head against the dirt, digging my claws into the side of her face.

"Y-you damned, fucking lizar-...!" She began, before I cut her off by crushing her head, blood and brain chunks bursting out and splattering across the ground.

I then drove my claws into her body, charging my energy in before unleashing an explosion of slicing wind blasts, tearing her body to pieces and exposing her core, which was severely cracked.

I’m sorry, Liquaqua, if I were stronger, we may have been able to defeat her without the cost of your life...but rest assured that your sacrifice was not in vain.

I then walked over towards the Vampire’s damaged core and raised my foot up, before stomping down on it and shattering it to pieces.

Hm...what was that Magic Item she took out earlier? The second one was definitely the one that cast the moonlight barrier, but what about the first one? She pressed a button on it, and a small bulb lit up, but it didn’t seem to have any other effect...what was that?
