Chapter 189: Hellbent Trio

"Stop!" Alexander slightly tilted his head to see Isadora approaching to where he was. Mixed feelings filled his chest. He was glad to see her after such a long time but still, she stopped him from killing this bastard. Isadora made her way to where the duo stood holding the hem of her dress. Her eyes were fixated on Alexander’s purple ones and she wondered what had happened. Her gaze shifted to a now kneeling and helpless Griffin that it made her feel like laughing. He looked smitten with the wet strands of his hair masking the better part of his face. "Isadora?" Alexander called her unsure of what he wanted to say. Guilt stabbed him like a knife yet he didn’t know the reason. Griffin’s gaze darted between the two expecting Isadora to ask for mercy on his behalf. "I missed you," were the words that came from Isadora’s mouth. Longing could be detected in her slightly broke voice before she wrapped her arms around his shoulders. Surprised, Alexander stiffened at her touch but his gaze never left Griffin’s. He wrapped his free arm around her waist but that only made her to tighten her embrace. Even his purple eyes had turned back to normal now. The growl of the dragon was what broke them from their embrace. Isadora turned her gaze to that side before she looked back at Alexander. He had that confused look on his face. Didn’t he remember?"I’m sorry but I’ll have to kill him," Alexander said. Since the moment she came, he thought this was a plot to have Griffin spared. But what she said next was the complete opposite of what he thought. "He deserves to die." She gave Griffin a cold glance crushing his hopes of ever surviving into nothingness. "Y..you can’t do this to me Isadora," Griffin said, fear crawling on his skin. "Did you have mercy when you lit the fire in my parents room?" She asked. Griffin turned mute for a while, surprise written on his face. How did she know? "I don’t know what you are talking about." "Perhaps I do," came a voice from behind. Griffin turned to see who it was. If he was surprised before, then words couldn’t explain his expression currently. "This can’t be! I killed you! You are dead!" He exclaimed. "As you can see, I am very much alive," said the woman who had come. "I could not rest until my sister’s death could be avenged. Thanks to my powers, I infiltrated the castle as a princess of Tasia." Bombshell! "You are Lady Jade?" Griffin asked. It all now dawned on him. So all this time he had been falling for his cousin. He should have known it the moment he suspected her. "You can call me that. I’ll make sure you receive the most painful of deaths ever. A heartless person like you deserves to die." Griffin looked around but all he could see was a trio hellbent to end his life at any available opportunity. He couldn’t fight them as they were powerful; the one, a skilled princess and a Crescian royalty. He didn’t have a chance. "Did you kill my parents?" Isadora asked him. She wanted to hear it from the horse’s mouth. Griffin shook his head, tears clouding his vision for once in his lifetime, one that was predicted to end shortly. "I-I was led by greed. Please forgive me!" A bitter smile curved on Isadora’s face. So all these years he had made her believe that it was the Valorians who killed her parents yet it was really him, her own uncle. His greed truly had no limits even if it meant to end someone else’s life even his own family! She was lucky to have survived the fire that day. "No! I’ll never forgive you," she said, a tear breaking from her left eye. "I trusted you but look what it has gotten me into? You’ll be executed according to the Crescian laws." "He’s my captive so he’ll be executed in Valoria," Alexander said. Looks like they had forgotten his presence. Isadora looked at him and said, "Fine. Besides, you are my husband."A frown settled on complete face at that. Did that mean she accepted to be his? "You don’t remember?" She asked noticing the confused look on his face. Hell wait! Now Alexander was overly confused. What was it that he didn’t remember? "Your Majesty?" Brandon came panting. His hair had soaked in the rain making him look unlike himself. His gaze swept to Isadora and a strange Lady before turning to Alexander. "The dragon is heading towards the capital! I’m afraid the informer won’t reach in time to give an evacuation notice to Her Majesty." The news surprised both Alexander and Isadora. A destructive creature, the dragon would stop at nothing to see a place turn into ashes. And in this case, it would be the Valorian capital. Innocent citizens and Alexander’s mother were all in the palace! He needed to act swift!"Chain him up and don’t let him out of your sight," he ordered Brandon who turned obedient for once. And turning to Isadora, "You stay here and stop this war." He turned to leave but Isadora was quick to grab his arm. "What is it?" He asked looking in her blue eyes but all he could see was fear. She was afraid history would repeat itself again. But if she stopped him, who could stop the dragon? The lives of so many people lay in his hands. "Take care," was all she managed to say. "For me and everyone," she added earning a smile from him. He drew her closer and gave her a quick stolen kiss that left her breathless."I will," he said and released her before disappearing into the woods. Isadora glanced at his direction until he disappeared. She could only hope he would be alright. "You will all die!" Griffin said and let out a hysterical laughter that angered Isadora to the core. With one swift move, she took a knife from a standing knight and before Griffin could form another word, a knife was driven in his belly rendering him speechless. He looked up at her in a mixture of pain and disbelief. "At least you should die first," Isadora said with no hint of emotion on her beautiful face. She pulled the dagger from him leaving him to lie in a pool of his own blood!New Chapter up for Indebted To A Vampire. Please vote with PS >3
