THE GOD EATER
Chapter 537: Counter Power.
The reality of the situation was that Loki wasn’t actually injured at all by that attack. He had only pretended to be injured so as not to appear too strong and scare the enemy away.
All of the groves on his body were created by himself using the Nanite Metacs. The groves were not created by the storm of swords, so he hadn’t actually spent any of his lifespan to heal his injuries. He had only wiggled the surface of his body around to produce the facade of healing.
It seemed his facade had successfully fooled the swordsman, as the storm of swords was created with the same amount of power. With this kind of power, there was a 25.9% disparity between his power and Loki’s.
Loki knew about the disparity in power, so he knew what to expect next. But the swordsman didn’t know about the disparity of power and expected the same thing to happen again.
As the swordsman watched his storm of blades smash into Loki, the sneer he had earlier was slowly getting bigger. He saw that, as usual, the clash of the swords against the enemy produced sparks of resistance. But then, many swords began to shatter and flicker out of existence.
At first, he thought he was seeing the wrong things. But when he focused again, he confirmed that when the silvery and phantom storm of swords struck the enemy, the swords shattered.
The more he looked, the more absurd the situation was. But he couldn’t deny reality when Loki broke out of the storm of blades and continued to approach him instead of being sent flying with injuries all over his body.
He didn’t know exactly what had happened, but he knew that something had gone wrong. To his credit, he was quick to respond to this unexpected development.
Just before Loki could reach him, he roared and activated his second Divine Metac. This caused his power to immediately soar.
As the sword fell, a new storm of swords appeared before Loki. This time, the swords in the storm were all as heavy as a mountain.
Each sword had the strength to crush a mountain. So when tens of them smashed down like that, a world would be in danger of collapsing.
The swordsman was sure that this attack would finally put the stubborn enemy in their place. After all, the fact that he possessed two Divine Metacs as a rank 6 divine being is something that is very rare for other rank 6 cultivators to have.
He didn’t think the enemy would possess a second Divine Metac. This is why he felt it was unbelievable that the enemy was able to beat the first storm of swords.
But even if the enemy possessed a second Divine Metac, now that he had used his second Divine Metac, the situation was sure to change. So he watched with smug expectations as sparks rang out all over the body of the enemy.
He saw his many swords smashed into the enemy, and the green ground beneath the enemy’s feet cratered and cracked as the force of the blows was transmitted into the ground.
As he watched these things happen, he said to himself, ’Any moment now.’
The ground caved in beneath Loki’s feet, but he refused to cave in. His body glowed a red light as he smashed through the storm in his way and advanced undaunted towards the swordsman.
The second storm of sword still failed to bring Loki down. This outcome transformed the smug smile on the swordsman’s face into one of shock.
His hopes for his attack were high, which was why his disappointment was immense. Then his disappointment and shock turned into fear when Loki reached him and swung a large boulder-sized fist wearing a fiery red gauntlet at him.
If Loki were a normal rank 6 divine being, his expectations would have come to pass just now. After all, he had used 6(Cultivation Rank) × (6(Will) + 6(Body)) × (6(Sword Storm) + 6(Sword Mountain)) to produce that second storm.
The power of the second storm had been a whopping 864 units. It was a power that was 4 times the magnitude of the first storm. So it was clear that he had gone all out.
But Loki knew that the swordsman had a second Divine Metac and was ready for it. So when he saw the more powerful second storm, he immediately activated more Divine Metacs and produced power with 6(Cultivation Rank) × (6(Body) + 6(Will)) × (6(Nanite) + 6(Gold Body) + 6(Vengeful Bones) + 6(Splitting Edge)).
By adding the Vengeful Bomes Metac and the Splitting Edge Metac, he was able to raise his power from 432 units to 1,728 units. This is a fourfold increase in power, which is similar to what the swordsman did.
So he wasn’t outmatched when the swordsman suddenly increased their power and attacked him with the second storm. Instead, his power soared, and he became 2 times stronger than the swordsman.
The swordsman had managed to block the blow at the last moment. He had brought his sword across his chest to block the fist. But the sword had broken, and the fist continued to smash his chest.
When the fist smashed into his chest, his chest immediately caved in. The fist drove itself into the chest and punctured his entire torso.
The wound that the fist created was not smooth at all. It looked like something had exploded out of the swordsman’s chest because the hole in his torso was wider than Loki’s arm.
This disparity in the size of the injury and Loki’s arm made it easy for him to withdraw his arm from the swordsman’s chest while his other arm wound around for another strike.
Just as he removed his first arm from the swordsman’s chest, the second fist landed. In response, the swordsman struck him on the head with the sword. But Loki didn’t bother to dodge the attack.
He let the sword strike his head, and just like he expected, he wasn’t injured at all. Meanwhile, his fists continued to hammer the swordsman’s body.
