Chapter 386: Where is Moku?

Two days had passed, and all the department heads, the nucleus of Wilwatikta Kingdom’s governance, had returned.

However, their king, Moku, was nowhere to be seen.

Nevare wasn’t angry, but deeply worried because the last news he heard about his husband was that he was engaged in a fierce battle with a formidable enemy.

According to Boku and Goku, Moku’s opponent this time was a Level 6 Mana Core Demon.

Nevare had never fought against demons before, but she had studied their curse powers. Although general knowledge about the Curse Spell Faction had been uncovered, detailed knowledge remained elusive.

Level 5 and Level 6 Mana Core Demons were rarely seen, making it difficult to unravel all their abilities.

Level 7 and Level 8 powers wouldn’t be easily unleashed. They would only appear on the battlefield when one species faced dire circumstances and it was crucial to win.

Hence, no elf protested when Wilwatikta only deployed Third Evolution Gate Asura, equivalent to Level 4 Constellation Mage. It would indeed be odd if Wilwatikta deployed a greater force for a war that wasn’t directly related to them.

Therefore, the arrival of a Level 6 Mana Core Demon in a battlefield filled with power levels 3 and 4 was peculiar.

Nevare had tried contacting Moku through Pandava, but unfortunately, her calls went unanswered.

Despite trying to remain calm, her worry was increasingly evident on her face. The same unease was visible on the faces of all the monsters gathered in the throne room.

"Mige, please repeat what you just said," Nezena looked at Mige.

Nezena had asked the same thing to Mige countless times in the past few minutes.

She seemed so worried that her restlessness was palpable. Nezena stood up, then walked around, then sat back down several times, making anyone watching her feel that something was amiss with the Holy Queen’s ass.

But everyone else in the room was showing the same unease. It was unimaginable for them before that Moku could make them this worried.

"If we can still connect to Pandava, then it means Moku is okay. Pandava is Moku’s private domain in the Mind Realm, and no one can enter or connect to that place without Moku’s knowledge," Mige reiterated, for what seemed like the umpteenth time.

However, he didn’t hesitate to repeat his words several times. It seemed that his words could not only reassure others listening but also calm himself.

"Are you really unable to reach him?" Boku asked, looking at the Main Queens.

Nerphyl shook her head, as did Nedira. "Nevare was the last person to contact him through Pandava," Nezena answered, also shaking her head beforehand.

"My last conversation with Moku was about organizing this meeting two days ago. What about both of you, when was the last time you saw him?" Nevare said, also shaking his head beforehand.

Boku and Goku glanced at each other before Boku chose to speak for both of them.

"As I mentioned earlier, the battle with the demon species was reaching its final stage when news of the arrival of the Level 6 Mana Core Demon was heard.

"Initially, Goku and I planned to confront it together, but Moku decided to descend directly. Their fight would undoubtedly cause significant damage, potentially resulting in casualties on our side due to stray bullets.

"Therefore, Moku decided to ambush it in a distant location from the battlefield. The last thing we knew was when Moku and the Level 6 Mana Core Demon activated their domains together."

Nevare simply nodded before turning to Nerphyl. "Can you try to assess the situation there with the Eyes of Queen?" she asked.

Nerphyl fell silent for a moment, her face filled with uncertainty.

She had previously used the Eyes of Queen to observe Moku’s battle against his enemy, but her vision had been obstructed by their domains.

Without using Mana that exceeded the strength of their domains, Nerphyl’s vision wouldn’t be able to penetrate them.

However, like Nevare, she wanted to try again.

Therefore, Nerphyl closed her eyes and focused her Mana within her body. She also contacted all the druids and sylphs available to assist her by channeling their Mana to her.

After a few moments, the Eyes of Queen activated, and all the monsters could sense a giant eye observing them from the sky.

However, no one was alarmed by the feeling of being watched because they knew it was the power of Nerphyl’s Eyes of Queen.

They could sense the giant eye moving quickly toward where Moku should have been.

Although they could sense it, none of the kingdom’s monsters could feel the giant eye appearing above them.

This was because Nerphyl’s ability didn’t have a physical form; it was just a collection of Mana that couldn’t be seen with the naked eye.

The reason why all the monsters in the room could sense it was because they had prepared themselves beforehand and had a high sensitivity to Mana. If they hadn’t known that Nerphyl would use the Eyes of Queen to spy on them, it would likely have gone unnoticed.

Previously, Swa had asked Nerphyl to spy on the Mana Species’ headquarters, but Moku had rejected the request due to the risks Nerphyl would face.

Although the ability to spy with the Eyes of Queen was incredible, it had no defense at all.

If the enemy knew that the Eyes of Queen were spying on them, they could injure or even destroy them.

As a result, Nerphyl, who was directly connected to the Eyes of Queen, could also be injured or even blinded.

Moreover, there was a high likelihood that other sylphs and druids would be severely affected if the Eyes of Queen were destroyed.

Therefore, Moku only assigned Nerphyl the task of spying on the monsters, while Swa spied on the outside using the transformative powers of the druids.

Several minutes passed, and all the monsters in the throne room looked at Nerphyl with anxious anticipation.

With the speed possessed by the Eyes of Queen, Nerphyl should have been able to see the defensive lines set up by the Wilwatikta Kingdom to fight the demon army by now.

Finding out where Moku and the Level 6 Mana Core Demon were fighting should have taken only a few seconds. Yet, Nerphyl still hadn’t opened her eyes, and the furrowed brow only added to the monsters’ growing anxiety.

Finally, Nerphyl opened her eyes, and all the monsters leaned toward her expectantly. However, when Nerphyl shook her head, they all let out a long sigh of disappointment.

"I’m sorry. I tried to locate Moku hundreds of kilometers away from where he should have been fighting, but I couldn’t find his whereabouts. I also couldn’t sense any domains obstructing my vision like before.

"All that’s left is widespread destruction, most likely caused by their battle. But apart from that, I couldn’t find either Moku or the Level 6 Mana Core Demon," Nerphyl explained.

Hearing this, all the monsters turned pale with worry. Dark thoughts began to fill their minds, and Nezena even started to cry.

Nerphyl, standing beside her, could only embrace her friend with a similarly pale face.

The disappearance of Moku was terrible news for them.

Moku was the progenitor of all asuras; he was their king, their leader, and the strongest monster who had protected them all this time.

Without Moku, the monsters would undoubtedly still be like rats hiding in the dirt, hoping the Mana Species wouldn’t find them.

Nevare clenched her fists so tightly that blood dripped from her knuckles. The only thing that gave them a glimmer of hope was that they could still connect with Pandava.

Without it, the mood in the room would become infinitely worse.

Several minutes passed, and still, no monster spoke. Finally, Goku, noticing the worsening mood among the monsters, spoke up, "What should we do now?" he asked.

Hearing this, all the monsters raised their heads.

At this moment, it wasn’t just their fate at stake but the fate of all monster species on Meer. They didn’t have time to mourn and had to think about the future for all monster species, even without Moku.

"The news of Moku’s disappearance must not leave this room!" Goku declared.

"Goku is right. Moku isn’t just a king and our leader; he’s also a symbol of security and certainty. Without Moku, the riots that would occur are unimaginable. Worse yet, Wilwatika could break apart and be destroyed!" Mige added.

"In that case, we must silence all the monsters who participated in the battle!" Swa argued.

"No! That will only arouse suspicion among the other monsters!" Nerphyl shook her head while continuing to stroke the back of Nezena, who was still crying in her embrace.

"Hmm... Are we really sure that Moku is truly lost?" a voice that had always been silent in the meeting and only spoke when asked. The kingdom’s Prime Minister, Ez.

"Hmm? What do you mean, Ez?" Nevare inquired.

"I mean—"

"Who’s missing?"

Suddenly, a portal appeared in their midst, accompanied by a voice they all recognized well.

All the monsters immediately activated their Mana and dragon prana upon seeing the portal, but relaxed upon hearing the accompanying voice.

Nezena released her embrace of Nerphyl and leaped toward the asura emerging from the portal.

"MOKU!!!"
