Valerian, The Legendary
Chapter 379: Dance Of Death.
Valerian and his team arrived at the fifteenth floor and were surprised. The young man could not help but recall the scene where he found the remains of Dragon Queen Senuim. Even the air around those bones seemed to be dead.
This place was the same. Everything here seemed to be dead. Shiba asked, "This place is even more gloomy than I expected."
Valerian shook his head and said, "This is not gloom but the aura of death. After we have rested, we need to find that wild boss, deal with it, and enter the sixteenth floor, before we return to the surface."
The three people nodded. Viney asked, "Any reason why you seem so serious?"
Valerian sighed, "The aura of death here is similar to what I have seen many times in my world. If you stay here for prolonged periods, your senses gradually weaken, and you will die. This is why I do not want to spend more than a few hours."
The team was surprised by this, and they asked him various questions about where he found this aura and how he survived. Valerian patiently told them everything as he looked for a place to rest for a few minutes. His body was drained after fighting with the foxes right before the exit.
After exploring a little, they found a relatively hidden gap between the walls. The four sat on the ground and closed their eyes to rest.
...
On the first floor of the dungeon, three big men stood surrounded by hundreds of men dressed in battle armor. These people were from the Avion Party, and the three men in the center were the quadrant commanders. Each quadrant had forty men before the three men stood an old man.
He said, "Castil, Basilo, and Marva. You three will locate that kid on the thirteenth, fourteenth, and fifteenth floors. Each of you gets a floor to look at, and after finding the child, you can kill that."
The three men nodded. They all had the same armor; the only difference was the streaks of red on their shoulders.
Marva had three streaks, and he replied, "You do not have to worry, Minister."
The old man nodded and opened a portal using the device in his hand. He said, "Castil."
The man nodded and rushed into the portal with his quadrant. After a second, the old man opened another portal, and this tile Basilo entered. Finally, Marva entered the dark portal with his troops.
The old man returned to the exit of the dungeon.
...
Valerian opened his eyes after an hour of sleep and said, "Do you guys sense this?"
Shiba opened her eyes and nodded. Viney asked, "What is it?"
Valerian replied, "Probably the wild boss moving around."
Shiba nodded but then asked, "What do you think is the reason for it to move around?"
The young man thought briefly and said, "Someone must have entered the floor, and they are not acting very carefully." ๐๐๐ฎ๐๐๐๐๐ท๐๐ซ๐๐ก.๐๐ธ๐ถ
When she saw him standing up and dusting his butt, Shiba wanted to say something. He said, "I will go and check. None of you should come out."
The lady sighed and said, "Take my sword. Your spare one might not be able to deal with the attack of that wild boss."
Valerian nodded and took her sword. After stretching his limbs and crackling them, he rushed away. Shiba sighed and said, "I hope he can come back safe. If the enemy is from the Avion Party, it will not be easy for him to deal with."
Captain sighed and said, "I am more worried about the Avion Party guys."
Viney asked, "What do you mean?"
The young man sighed and said, "Well, you might not understand, but Valerian has never really let himself go. He says he is very restricted without mana or battle aura. However, all his attacks are made with the intent to kill. This is why I am scared. If he became angry, how many would the Avion Party lose?"
Shiba sighed and said, "I understand what you are saying. Whenever we fight, I worry that my actions hinder him. He says nothing, but I feel he is bothered sometimes."
Viney clicked her tongue and said, "Have you seen him glare at me when the arrows do not hit the eyes of the creatures? Yet when he flicks those Flives, even if the beast has an eye as small as a sesame seed? How can someone be so good?"
The three discussed Valerian while the young man carefully moved through the darkness.
...
Valerian was moving slowly when he heard a roar and froze. He leaned against the walls and stayed still. After a few minutes, the roar sounded again. This time, it was paired with loud thumps. The young man could feel the shocks in his body.
He gulped and thought, โThe wild boss should be thirty feet tall if he can create such shocks.โ
The roars calmed down, and the thumps vanished; Valerian slowly moved on the floor. He seemed to have become a cat, and no noise was produced from his footsteps. Upon reaching a corner, he peeked into the passage on the side and shook his head.
A few dozen men were running through the caverns, looking for something. Valerian could hear them talking, "Where can they hide in this place? Are they so mad to seek death?"
Another man scoffed, saying, "I have no idea what to say. We were supposed to clear the thirtieth floor and fight the floor boss."
Valerian figured that the leader of this group was not among them, or they would not be talking in such a lax mannerโthe next moment, his thoughts were confirmed, "Captain Marva has gone after that wild boss. How many punches do you think he can last?"
Learning about this, the young man walked out of hiding and said, "Are you all looking for me?"
The people froze briefly, and someone said, "To think we had to deal with a child. Come on, boy. Surrender, and maybe, Leader Lex will let you keep a full corpse."
Valerian shook his head and replied, "I will give you a chance. Leave the place, or you will be buried here."
He was standing before thirty or so men and threatened them in such a manner. The next moment, all the people burst into laughter. They underestimated him and made fun of him. Suddenly, one of the armored guys threw his spear at Valerian. He used so much force that it created an air pocket around the spearhead.
Valerian sighed and tilted to the side as the spear passed by. The young man took out the sword and vanished from his side. These dungeoneers were shocked when they found a head flying up in the void.
Valerian said, "If you all give up now, I will let you leave."
His voice was so cold that the people shivered. However, when they recalled the rules of the Avion Party, they gritted their teeth and had no option but to charge forward.
Valerian did not hold back anymore. His sword flashed, and people fell. After ten minutes, when almost everyone was killed, Valerian asked the few survivors, "In which direction is your leader?"
The survivor was shivering as he watched the young man standing before him and said, "There."
The direction of his finger made Valerian frown, and after killing the people, he left. He was not careful earlier, and in his rage, the attack left a few people badly mutilated. Valerian did not wish to have them suffer in agony.
Valerian rushed through the dungeon and returned to where his team was resting. He was worried if this Marva would find them and make them suffer. After ten minutes, when he reached the spot, it was empty. However, the next moment, he noticed a message left by Shiba. They found that the wild boss was coming closer, and thus they ran.
They had marked the direction where they were heading. The young man was quick on his feet and rushed through the dungeons again. However, on the way, he found a lot of marks leading him to different places.
When he was getting frustrated, he heard the sounds of battle and charged at full speed. The baptism of the two herbs greatly enhanced his strength. Valerian was not scared of anything, even death.
Running through the darkness, he reached a clearing, and his eyes narrowed. A few men surrounded his teammates. At the same time, one man was running, leading the wild boss toward Shiba and the rest.
Valerian took out his flives and flying knives, and his wrists flicked as he ran. The men from the Avion Party had no focus dedicated to him. They were all busy syncing with the timing to avoid the bludgeon held by the wild boss. The ten feet long wooden pole would smash these people into meat past.
However, they were all attacked by Valerian, and they messed up. Shiba and the two caught this chance and escaped the attack. The impact seemed to have destroyed the arena. When the team came together, they found the clearing had collapsed but Valerian said, "Stay behind me and do not intervene. I am pissed."
