Chapter 893: Chapter 893: I Can Handle This

Unexpectedly, Scarlet walked to Jason and pushed Jason away.

"Jason, I don’t need you to help me. I can handle this alone."

"Scarlet...."

"Fine. You have a backbone. Show me how you would handle this," Grace pushed Jason away suddenly. Her secretary grabbed him immediately to pretend to him from moving there again.

Grace raised her hand again. When she was about to slap Scarlet, Scarlet unexpectedly stopped her.

Grace was much older than Scarlet. Therefore, it was quite easy for Scarlet to stop her.

She shouted out angrily, "Loose my hand. Dare you do this."

"Mrs. William, here is the airport, don’t you feel ashamed? Besides, I am not foolish. You’ve slapped me once. As we’ve made mistakes before, I can accept that. However, I won’t allow you to do that to me again. I want to get well along with you. So please try to show some respect to me, Mrs. William."

Scarlet said in a proud voice. Though her voice was low, everyone around her could hear her clearly.

In front of her mother in law, she was polite and reasonable, instead of fighting back rudely or being bullied in silence.

Hearing these words, Grace froze slightly. Apparently, she was shocked.

In front of her, Scarlet sounded quite reasonable and calm. All of a sudden, she thought she was the one unreasonable.

She frowned deeply. While looking around, she saw lots of people looking at them. It was until this moment that she felt shameful. She loosened her hand and said, "Are you trying to irritate me? I know my son the best. It would be best if you didn’t teach me. I would never give him to you. Besides, all those craps you said just now might make sense in front of me. But his father would not listen to you for a moment. I can let you go today, for our good reputation."

Grace threw an eye on her and turned around. She got into the car.

Seeing her leaving, Scarlet finally took a relief. She was so nervous, just now. She thought Grace might do more shameful things. She thought Grace might continue to insult her. Luckily, she didn’t.

Jason immediately walked to her to check her cheeks. He asked her in a concerned voice, "Are you all right? I told you we should not come here. They would not forgive us."

"I am fine. Don’t worry. Fine, let’s go back. I am sorry. I fail...." Scarlet felt guilty.

Unexpectedly, the secretary stopped in front of them, "Mr. William, Miss Yvette, please get into the car."

Hearing the secretary’s words, both were shocked. Seeing the expression on their face, the secretary smiled slightly, "Mrs. William asked me to invite you. I’ve prepared the car. Please. We would arrive at the mansion in half an hour."

"My mother’s order?"

"Yes. Just now."

Hearing his words, Scarlet widened her eyes in astonishment. She didn’t believe that she had finally succeeded. She turned towards Jason and said in an exciting voice, "I... I’ve done it. Right?"

"Yes. You’ve managed to convince Mrs. William."

The secretary told her.

Soon, the secretary arranged the new couple into the car. Then, the secretary got into Grace’s car. Looking at the angry face of the woman sitting on the sear seat, he said, "Madam, I’ve arranged everything."

Hearing his words, Grace took a deep breath. She calmed herself down and said, "I would not let her go back with me if I don’t have to maintain my family’s reputation."

"Why couldn’t you just acknowledge this that Scarlet had convinced you?" the secretary smiled helplessly.

Hearing his words, Grace stared at the secretary and said in an angry voice, "How possible? I do this totally for my son. Jason had caused enough scandals before when he escaped from his wedding with Kris. If I quarreled with his wife now, what would others think of us? That girl might not care about my son’s reputation. But I care. I really could not imagine what his father would say when they see him. I wish they would not fight against each other. God bless us."

"Actually, it is so obvious that Jason is quite happy now. He keeps smiling all the way here. Apparently, he loves his wife deeply. Compared with forcing him to get married to a woman he doesn’t even care about, it’d better for you to let him get married to a girl he loves. Why don’t you try it? Besides, they might really be able to get a tube baby."

"Well....but she is really not an ideal option for me to be my daughter in law. She could not help Jason in his career at all. Hawk Media is just a small cooperation. Jason deserves much better."

"You are as wealthy and powerful as your husband. Would you mind telling me whether you are happy in your marriage?" the secretary asked her out of curiosity.

All of a sudden, both fell into silence inside the car.

At the moment, Grace’s face changed.

She squinted slightly. She looked so angry and sharp at the moment, much angrier than the woman when she was shouting at Scarlet just now.

The secretary immediately realized he’d asked a wrong question. He immediately apologized, "Sorry, Madam. I don’t mean...."

"No. You say nothing wrong," Grace said in a cold voice, "I could not get love when I get married to that man. But at least we would not be each other’s burden. We are a win-win. What’s wrong with that?"

Hearing her words, the secretary frowned slightly. He knew clearly that what she said was wrong. But he didn’t tell her. He just lowered his head and fell into silence.

Looking at the secretary, Grace asked, "Do you want to tell me something."

"I might make mistakes again,"

"Don’t worry. I won’t punish you. Tell me now. What do you think is love? Is it lumbering each other for our whole life? Could that really be called love? Like what Jason does now?

The secretary laughed out bitterly, "It is you that ask me to express my opinion. I know Jason has a better option. He could even leave Modern Technology and achieve more. But he never left. Have you thought about the reason? Why doesn’t he leave the company? Is it really just because of the family?"

Why? Why didn’t he leave, since he never liked that job?

The secretary continued, "Because Jason never cares about the accomplishment. He loves freedom. He chose to work in Modern Technology because you asked him to do so. He likes to drink. He likes dating women. He never settled down. Success in a career has never been what he chased after. What he really wants is love. Different from you, Jason wants to fall in love with the one."

Though the secretary didn’t spend a long time with Jason, he helped Grace take care of lots of stuff about Jason. He knew something.

Generally, for matters in the world, those closely involved cannot see as clearly as that outside.

It was the first time for Grace to hear these words. She suddenly realized she was wrong these years.

Even her secretary knew what kind of man Jason was.

As Jason’s mother, she didn’t know anything about him.
