The Soft-Hearted Wife of Mr. Big Shot-Chapter 73: The Girl’s Birthday
Leo Grant finished his work for the morning and went straight to find Holly Sawyer, wondering if the young girl was satisfied with the gift he’d given her.
Holly and Diana Curtis were still chatting, relaxed and carefree.
"Holly."
Leo slowed his pace as he walked over to Holly, his voice unusually gentle.
"Brother."
Holly turned to look at Leo, and the moment she saw him, a delighted smile spread across her face.
She felt genuinely happy.
"Do you like it?"
Leo pulled out a chair and sat down, his gaze tenderly fixed on Holly.
The shop’s décor was all arranged to Holly’s liking, and everything sold in the store was white peach oolong flavored, a taste Holly loved.
The shop wasn’t meant for profit, just to please the young girl, though it occasionally did make money.
"I love it."
Holly’s eyes widened with joy and laughter.
She couldn’t not like it.
Leo said, "As long as you like it."
As long as the young girl liked it, that’s all that mattered. He was just worried she might not.
"Brother, will the shop lose money?"
Holly looked at the few customers in the shop, gently biting her lip as she posed the question.
A shop with only one flavor might struggle to cater to the masses, and customer flow would likely decrease significantly.
Hence, business wouldn’t be good and might even face a loss.
Holly had studied economics, so she understood quite a lot.
"It’s okay, it’s not mainly for profit."
Leo shook his head, explaining that the shop wasn’t intended for making money. He hadn’t even considered profit; he just wanted the young girl to be happy.
White peach oolong flavored products aren’t common, and they’re not easy to find, but he liked that Holly could have them whenever she wanted.
"What if it loses money?"
Holly tilted her head, looking at Leo, appearing a bit puzzled.
Leo shook his head, "It won’t lose money."
If he can buy the young girl’s happiness, then it’s not a loss for him.
He could cover the lost money anyway, since he wasn’t short on cash.
Holly nodded, somewhat understanding.
Diana watched the interaction between Holly and Leo silently, biting her straw, saying nothing.
Tsk, the more she watched, the more she felt they were an oddly perfect match, the more she felt they were meant to be.
"I’m going to the restroom."
Having drunk a little too much, Holly quickly dashed for the bathroom.
"Young Master Grant."
Diana gently bit her lip, hesitating for a long time before daring to greet Leo.
When Holly was around, Leo appeared gentle. When Holly wasn’t there, his expression turned cold.
Sure enough, men were indeed changeable, acting one way in front of someone and differently in front of another.
Leo was gentle in Holly’s presence, but indifferent in front of others.
"Hmm?"
Leo looked up, his voice cold.
"Do you know Holly’s birthday?"
Diana propped her chin up, slowly asking.
Well, Holly was in Bexley, and given her unique circumstances, the Pantheon folks couldn’t conveniently come over for Holly’s birthday.
However, Leo could.
Diana thought about this briefly.
"When is it?"
Leo’s gaze was intense as he looked at Diana, anticipating her answer.
He actually didn’t know when the young girl’s birthday was.
"She didn’t tell you?"
Diana furrowed her brows, blinking with a puzzled look.
Well, she hadn’t thought Holly would not tell Leo.
Leo said, "Hmm."
"Her birthday is this month, on September 24th, it’s quite soon, just under a week away."
Diana mentioned, revealing Holly’s birthday.
"Got it, thanks."
Leo nodded, a flicker passing through his eyes.
The young girl was being naughty.
Her birthday needed to be properly celebrated.
"Going home?"
Holly emerged from the restroom, and Leo glanced at the time, asking.
Mrs. Hayes was at home preparing lunch for Holly, waiting for her to eat.
Mrs. Hayes always had excellent cooking skills, and Holly loved her food, so Mrs. Hayes kept making fresh, delicious dishes for her.
"Huh?"
Holly was somewhat confused; she’d only gone to the restroom, and now Leo was asking if she wanted to go home.
"Mrs. Hayes made some snacks for you."
Leo explained.
Holly blinked, felt her tummy, then glanced at Diana, "I’ll head back first then."
Choosing between delicious food and Diana, she opted for the food, genuinely liking Mrs. Hayes’ cooking.

Autumn was a cool season, mild and refreshing, with beautiful scenery, but it was also easy to catch a cold if not careful. 𝗳𝗿𝐞𝕖𝘄𝗲𝕓𝗻𝚘𝚟𝕖𝐥.𝚌𝕠𝕞
Holly caught a cold.
"Here, take your medicine."
Leo brought over a pot of prepared medicine to Holly, his tone somewhat stern.
"Can I not take it?"
Holly nestled in her blanket, her soft head and eyes peeking out, staring directly at Leo, her face full of refusal.
She didn’t like medicine at all, it felt like torture.
"No, you must."
Leo refused, his voice colder, lacking its usual warmth.
The young girl loved to sleep with the air conditioning on at night, didn’t like covering herself, often walked barefoot on the floor, and never listened.
Now, she had caught a cold.
"You’re scolding me."
Holly’s tears started dripping down instantly, looking at Leo with an aggrieved expression.
Leo had never spoken harshly to her before.
Leo: "..."
Scolding?
"Brother, you’ve changed, you weren’t like this before."
Holly bit her lip, gazing at Leo pitifully, with an immensely wronged expression, as if she couldn’t be any sorrier.
"Brother made a mistake."
Leo put the bowl on the table, quickly trying to comfort Holly.
The young girl wasn’t happy, so of course he had to make amends.
"Brother used the wrong tone; brother won’t scold you anymore, okay?"
Leo gently ruffled Holly’s hair, his tone warm and indulgent.
If the young girl said he scolded her, then he did; it was all his fault, whatever she said was true.
"Hmm."
Holly wiped away her tears, looking pitifully at Leo, nodding.
"Can I not take the medicine?"
Holly gazed directly at the bowl of medicine on the table, her face showing complete refusal.
"That won’t do."
Everything else could be agreed upon, but not this.
"Drinking it will make your cold better, be good, okay?"
Leo ladled a spoonful of medicine and brought it to Holly’s lips, his tone gentle as water.
Holly shook her head, full of refusal.
"It’s not bitter."
Holly stared at Leo, trying to detect any trace of deceit in his eyes.
But there wasn’t any.
"If I’m lying, I’m a puppy."
Leo pushed the spoon closer to Holly’s lips again.
